City Fighting

Ok, I don't know about ya'll, but I love street fighting in Fallout 3. The outdoor areas in Downtown DC in particular. Alas, they're all too small to actuially get some good fun in. Yes, that includes the Mall. Especially the Mall. Too small and too open.

So here's my request: One HUGE outdoor city zone. Lots of enemies, preferably Talon, Enclave or Raiders, or maybe all three that constantly respawn whenever you leave the zone (to hell with the Super Mutants). A right proper warzone. Preferably no extra bits unless someone wants to add them. I figure that the vanilla Fallout would about cover it.

Well, I think the city would be great if they just pull some of the impassable debris and let you freeroam more of the city without making you use the subway tunnels so much. I was actually hoping at one point in the game that you'd be walking through an all-out war-zone. BoS fighting Mutants fighting Talon fighting Raiders fighting Outcasts fighting Enclave....y'know, chaos. The kind of thing where you can physically walk through the capital city, but you may not make it there without being shot up a few times.

Well I'm not suggesting connecting the whole city into one big outdoor zone (though that would be awesome). I was thinking more along the lines of just like 12 square blocks of city. Make like three or four areas fortified for the factions in the style of said factions and have guards, patrols, combat squads, ect for each.

If I had any skill with the G.E.C.K. then I'd be making the city right now, but I can't hardly create a new cell, let alone make a city block.

I could see the whole thing be set up like a Dawn of War skirmish map with the Enclave in one corner, Raiders in a second, Talon in a third, and the SM's in a fourth.

In keeping with the DoW thing, here's some quick ideas for the factions.

Enclave: Obviously tech superior, but few fortifications and slightly fewer troops. Definate yes on Deathclaws and heavy weapons. (Space Marines)

Raiders: Lots of them. Like double that of whatever, say the Talon guys have, but poor weapons and armor. Melee and light weapons. (Orks)

Talon: Standard issue gear, some heavy stuff. Well dug in. (not really sure. Guard maybe.)

SM's: Mix of the three main ones, maybe 5-10 Behemoths total depending on the zone size (armored and unarmored kinds). Moderately dug in, "base" defended with heavy weapons and whatnot.

Well I think the problem is is that the city areas are too small and have too few enemies. Now if Bethesda had linked all of Downtown DC by overland routes as opposed to subways, then that would be something.

Hopefully The Pitt will deliver what I'm looking for =P

Mart's Mutant Mod's Increased Increased Spawns + Zone Respawns certianly puts me into quite a few epic battles. I've fought off Enclave Outposts while having 15 Raiders attack both of us from another side.

Ah yes, this is true.

Just tested out the MMM mods and I must say that I am satisfied.

But now I want a Thunder Hammer from Warhammer 40k D=

Just ripped through Dupont Circle in the Black Templar Vet armor, a tweaked out Colossus Headset, and a Junk Sledgehammer. Lots of gore. It was flippin' awesome.
