baluson
I'm done with Skyrim. Someone has probably already written something similar but I don't want to lose the opportunity to do catharsis. Look, I am an adult in my 30s who have been playing and modifying Skyrim since it came out, I have witnessed the worst moments related to the updates and I have always had the patience to put the pieces together and turn the game back into something decent. The thing is that since the last updates I had finally had the time in all these years to play the game with a single character from start to finish, I'm talking about hundreds of hours without counting the time I dedicate to mods. I really feel that save as my definitive save, my story. The other thing is that now after a long season of work in which I had not been able to play the game I came home one friday ready to see what had to be updated and find that basically everything is in pieces again. I already lost count of the times this has happened and will continue to happening. I'm tired. I can still load the save with the obsolete version of the game but I have no more content to play, only the mods remained, I even admit that I was looking forward to mods in CC but I did not expect the break to be so tremendous. I know I can update everything again but my current save is going to be impossible to rebuild so I am going to load the save, go to some of my favorite places and say hello to some old friends and then completely erase the game from my computer. The save will be eternally buried in my google drive to remember the old days when I pass by to look for something else and I stumble upon it by accident. I'm done with Skyrim. Until TES6 brothers and sisters. Edited November 21, 2021 by baluson

varkonasnorse
If you are referring to Skyrim AE borking your game, that can be easily dealt with. Like you, I was met with an unwanted "upgrade" to Skyrim AE, which created CTDs and made it appear my existing SE game was gone. Took me a couple of days, but I found the tools to handle it. I have my game back now and all my mods work. Just a couple of in-game settins to adjust, and my game is back where it was. But I won't go to the trouble of explainig how I did it if you are truly done with Skyrim. Spock: "It is illogical to assume the answer is obvious". reg1st3r
i started with the ae playing/modding skyrim again. i had no old modded game installed....after skyrim is installed in your desired language, do the roll back to 1.5.97 with the best of both worlds patcher: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/57618?tab=files than i used steam depot downloader to get stuff in my language again.here a video for steam depot downloader stuff: change in new depot downloader version: depotdownloader.bat to depotdownloader.exe Edited November 22, 2021 by reg1st3r

Wererommel
I found Fallout much easier to mod than Skyrim.
CottonTexas
Yeah, I feel ya OP. I've got 1k+ hrs. on LE that I stuffed full of now-defunct mods in search of the perfect game-play, and I recently upgraded to SE when I had to do a reinstall of my OS. I spent way too long putting together a half-decent mod-list just before AE was released. Now all the research into what works & what doesn't just makes me look at the game like a hassle to mess with. Instead of wanting to play the CC stuff that I paid for, I just don't want to bother with it anymore. I'm stepping back for a while, & we'll see whether I feel like giving it another go, or TES VI comes out first. Cotton
