How to spawn animals in the air ?

Hi, I've been working on a mchinima for a while with map editor 1.6 and I was wondering if anyone knows a way to spawn floating animals like bedbananas does in his infamous video https://youtu.be/3Aj2Pt5vWT8?t=583
