Can't block

I can't block with a shield in my left hand and a weapon/spell in my right.

 

I can block when I have a shield equipped and nothing in my right.

 

I can cast spells and use weapons in my left hand.

 

Anyone know what might be the cause?

I have a similar problem, i can only block with unarmed but cant block with anything else weapons or shiled... needless to say this makes the game almost unplayable, i thought i might have to do with skysa but no luck there, it also doesnt seem to be the gamepad settings so i dont know, and i cant find any post with this issue, if you do let me know

Yeah, I'm totally lost. I've deleted and reinstalled all of my animations, reset my controls (doesn't work with mouse either), and tried on new saves. Nothing.

So my culprit was the Kingsglaive mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/56282?tab=description

 

It mentions problems with blocking in the description.

 

You can either disable it or install Dual Wield Block (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/58548?tab=description) to keep Kingsglaive. You just have to load it before Kingsglaive and go to Dual Wield Block's MCM Settings to change block to L2/Right mouse click. The drawback to the second solution is that you can't shield bash.

 

EDIT:

 

So this is resolved with Skysa Grip Switch mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54056).

 

Activate it, run Nemesis, and in Grip Switch's MCM menu, map the Dual Wield Block to your button of choice, and you can now block, bash, and use the cool shiny sword all at the same time. You do not need the Dual Wield Block mod.
