In terms of environment design, voice acting and technical execution, it's probably one of the best quest mods you could download for Fallout 4.Some of the writing I wasn't a fan of - McClintock's fourth wall breaking comments about the Institute, while accurate, just made me roll my eyes into the back of my head. Lily's obsession with saying 'doggos' made me want to push her in the pen and throw a plasma grenade into it. The quest objective updates were funny at first, but the gimmick got old pretty fast when I just wanted a concise explanation of what I had to do next (it clearly is your style, I won't say you have to change this, but its just not for me).I REALLY wasn't a fan of how some of the 'search for X' quests are designed. I understand the commitment to realism, but it just got frustrating to keep going to quest objective areas only to find nothing. Fetch quests are already aggravating enough without this extra layer of frustration thrown on top of it.I also didn't like how the mod author has chosen our player dialogue for us in most conversations. Fallout 4's dialogue is already limited enough as it is.Even with all that said, I enjoyed the broad strokes plot developments and the atmosphere and characters were all pretty great. The big dinner scene in particular was chock full of great dialogue and interactions between these characters - proud to say that I stayed for all of it.Looking forward to what you come up with next.tuityfruity123427 November 2021 - 07:00 PM in response to post #101851968. #101881663@*username* No need to be like that. I was being pretty fair to your mod, if you can't take criticism that's your problem.02 December 2021 - 04:39 PM #101851968. #101881663, #102239528, #102278753@*username* oops, my bad. Just this one, created because one of the ******** devs banned me from downloading his mods because they couldn't take criticism. I still need those sweet mods tho lmfaoRegardless, I was being pretty fair to your mod. It's evident you've got buckets of skill in designing characters and environments, but when it comes to the actual questing, there are some legitimate issues with how you've designed them that detract from the fun. Nobody wants to waste time following quest markers to nowhere just because it's more realistic, especially if they are playing Survival mode like I was. Scouring the entire Commonwealth for literal barrels of piss feels like the mod author's idea of a bad joke. It's also not fun having a relatively lengthy, multi-stage fetch quest where you collect soda machine components for Dr. Pepper, sending you to both of the DLC worldspaces just to add to the tedium. If there was less of the pointless filler and more of the unique and actually interesting stuff like leading a Brahmin back to the Diamond City gates and having detailed conversational setpieces, it would be much better for it.Just one man's humble opinion.Edited by tuityfruity1234, 02 December 2021, 05:06 PM.
