Weeping
As the title says, I'm in the section where I'm escaping Fort Drakon after having been arrested. The problem is that after this first encounter, my character never leaves combat mode, which makes certain doors unable to be interacted with. It also keeps my party (Alistair) from following me, even when he's definitely on move freely. This kinda blows, I've reloaded the save multiple times and I get nothing. I'm hoping that exiting the program did something, but I'm unsure. Also, bonus bug!: When I reloaded my save after the first time, Alistair is no longer with me at all. I start out in the cell all by myself. That kind of sucks too. Any ideas?
Thandal
Hmmm... Not sure what's going on there. AFAIK, you always wake-up in the cell alone. Then your two choices are: 1. "I'll find my own way out." In which case you have to sneak/fool/fight your way to the exit from the Fort, or; 2. "My friends will rescue me." In which case you can designate two Companions who then start at the front door and have to sneak/fool/fight their way to you and back out again. I've never had a companion with me in the cell after surrendering to Ser Cauthrien. :ermm:
theskymoves
@ Thandal - If Alistair is in the party when you surrender to Cauthrien, he should be in the same cell as the Warden @ Fort Drakon... he's the only companion who will be incarcerated as well. @ Weeping - There is an issue similar to what you've encounter described on the DA Wiki (though Alistair disappearing isn't mentioned): Due to the frozen position glitch existing in the xbox360 and pc versions of this game, it is possible that if both the player and Alistair are arrested and sent to Fort Drakon, that the player will become frozen in place if the choice is made for a rescue. This will make it very difficult or impossible to continue the quest from that point. As a workaround, close the door from INSIDE the cell using L2/LT/shift and open it again. it should trigger the cutscene. This can also happen on the ps3 version of the game, but the same solution works as stated above. Are you playing on PC or console? And if it is the former, are you running any mods? Thandal
Ahhhh... That explains it. By that point in the game I always leave Big Al whinging by himself in Arl Eamon's townhouse. (Although after I rescue her, I have been known to convince him to marry Anora "... for the good of the Realm.") Weeping
@theskymoves Ah, thanks! Exiting the game and coming back in did the trick, but at least now I know how to fix it without bailing. @Thandal Yeah dude, Alistair will bro out with you if he's in the party. And funnily enough, if he's hardened, he actually suggest just killing Cauthrien and going home anyway. What a guy.
