I want to make a mod, but I need to know what I need.

I don't know if any of you folks have played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, but after playing so many lovely mods for this game, I'd like to have something of my own to contribute. Basically, I want to add Azaghal, in companion form to the game. He's basically invisible (you can glimpse him when he's idle or in some instances, but for those of you who don't remember, he's basically this:

Now, my plan for the actual model is to equip an NPC with full Daedric armor, only maybe use either the mod that gives him horns or maybe add horns to a helmet. That is easy enough, but I want to get that cool translucent effect, kind of like what the ghosts have, and make it a deep red color. While I've got the willingness to learn and the motivation, the only problem is, aside from maybe basically changing values in the CS, I have no goddamn idea what I'm doing.

Basically, I want to know what tools I'd need and what I'd need to do to make this happen. I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me.

well if you just want your npc to have that ghost effect try adding this spell (AbGhostNPC) from the spell list in CS to his spell inventory...and thats it, your Npc will look like its a ghost 24/7! but if you want to have the effect Red...i'm not so sure of what you would need...

Thanks for the response! However, I do have one more question. Would giving him this ghost spell make his sword all ghosty-like too?

If you add the sword to the inventory, it should be treated as a seperate object. For example, shrouded wraiths generally carry elven weapons, but they are still translucent themselves.

As far as changing the color himself, you should be able to do that with Gimp, or Photoshop. Not sure how the ghost effect works though, if it's considered a spell, it may be a little more difficult.

What do you plan on using for the sword?

Thanks for the response! I was planning on using a 2-handed sword, perhaps a daedric claymore, just because it's mean-looking.
