I'm following this topic because I feel like it could be incredibly well done.

And considering the "separate" beginning thing, I think it should be like a Project Brazil start, I just feel that'd be a bit more appropriate. You can start the main quest in the new wasteland that you're creating. As I said before it's going to be very ambitious. And if you plan on adding MANY side quests to each wasteland, it's probably safe to say this mod will probably have the most voice actors in any mod that's been created.

Hey, thanks for the support!!! It means a lot! and a project Brazil beginning doesn't sound too bad! not at all! but just dont expect the generic vault beginning, like in all of the other games. I was thinking of doing something more original, but kind of like have the process of you growing up, in like fallout 3. Now it wont be in a vault, of course, and it won't be the same way they did it, in fallout 3, because I want mine to be more original. Regardless, I think it would be a good way for the player, to be more connected to there player, which i kind of felt fallout new vegas was missing, you didn't have much choice, in who your character was, he or she, just seemed like, a hardened mail man, and you had to run with that. I want to make more so, you decide, kind of, kinda like in fallout 3, but much more variety.

Yeah, that sounds perfect! Originality is something you always want to have in Fallout mods. And this mod definitely seems to be pretty original!

I can offer my services as a writer for some companion backstories and voice work if desired. I usually have a backstory included in any character image I upload, so there good as a reference. As for overall quest idea's I can see this being a huge huge mod, and will take a lot of work to do. Overall I am just sorry I cant contribute more.

Oh, I also am going to start voicing. I am still setting things up but hopefully within a few days I will be ready to start. I figured that voicing would be a good way to do more than bounce ideas all over the place.

That's great to hear, Blaze. When we move further along with the mod, I definitely could use some help with the voice acting. I'll keep you in mind, when the opportunity comes available.

@theDemonJackal, I appreciate your contributions, man. If you can, PM, and I can tell you some of the stuff I have in mind, or if the rest of the thread wants to know what I'm cooking up, we can talk about it here. Up to you, man.

Yeah I'd love to hear what you have in mind BerlinRunner

Well, for a small taste, me and thedemonjackal have been discussing companions in this mod. Right now, I've only been speaking with him about the companions that will take place currently in the Arizona Barren Wastelands portion of this mod. Here's a look at some of the companions you'll be able to have accompany you:

1. Harold - He's a ghoul with anger management problems. Whenever he gets mad, he loses his s*** and kills his tormentors in the most violent of ways possible which is how he ended up in jail, due to a bar fight gone horribly wrong. He used to be in a tribe of ghouls called "Las fantasmas" ("The Ghosts") but a raider group called "The Skulls," which basically purged most of the group, with the rest heading outwards. (Raul was also a part of this tribe, hence the reason why he moved to New vegas after the tribe was disbanded). Harold keeps the tradition of his tribe by continuing to wear his mask (hockey mask) as a tribute to them. Harold dislikes being a ghoul but respects other fellow ghouls. Harold loses his s*** when people call him a "zombie" which is what happened at the bar he was attending. After Harold was arrested, he's become slightly more distrusting of humans, but feels that he lacks purpose in this world, and often regrets a lot of his actions, including the bar fight, that still continues to haunt him. He's a neutral character so whatever the player chooses, good or evil, harold will slowly start aligning himself towards that side, and eventually will decide that if he wants to help the wasteland and it's inhabitants or crush the monsters that have taken so much away from him already. He's very easily tempered but knowledgable about a lot of stuff in the wasteland, he has a very black sense of humor and complains about getting "sun burnt" lol.

2. Ming Lang - She's a Chinese-American who was captured with her family by the military 200 years ago. They were sent with other Chinese-American family's to the Big MT, where a lot of them were experimented on. Fortunately for Ming, she qualified for her cryogenic freezing program and so instead of being frozen for 20minutes, she was frozen for 200 years. The scientists tried to get her out but to no avail. She was eventually released from her frozen prison. She was helped by a disfigured lab assistant who was the victim of a botched lobotomy. She found her only relative alive, her younger niece, Nancy, ghoulified. Enraged by this, she staged an uprising in the camps of Big MT which ended miserably and ended up get Nancy killed. The now shamed Ming, leaves Big MT with the disfigured lab assistant and escape to the Arizona Wastelands. Seeking work, she joins a Prospector Company, and begins work with her friend in Nogales. During this time though, she's exposed to the violence that has overtaken the city and during a crossfire between the NPF and the Trifecta Syndicate, her disfigured friend is shot, trying to protect her and later beaten to death by the Trifecta Syndicate. She becomes depressed but promises that she'll avenge her friend and try to clean up the town. She's a good karma character so generally, she'll dislike any evil done to anyone but will tolerate it.. To an extent. She's the moral compass for the player but sometimes her dislike for authority causes her reason to be clouded as for instance she dislikes the NFP, thinking that they'll just make the city of Nogales another police state and control the inhabitants. She's somewhat serious but naive due to the fact she doesnt know a whole lot about the new world she's stepped in. There's a potential love interest if the player chooses to continue that path into a full blown relationship or if the player decides not to get involved, can just be friends. She also has superb scavenging skills and can help you locate things like medicine and guns.

3. Marcus Maxus - Known to most as Marcus the Merciless, but known to a few as Marcus the Kind, Marcus Maxus got his start as a hunter for a tribe called the "Red Scalps." He was a young man when the legion slaughtered his tribe and asked him to become a part of Ceaser's Legion, as a scout due to his work helping Ceaser conquer his tribe which later on, Marcus deeply regrets betraying his people. Moving through the ranks, Marcus was in the running for Legate after the burning of Joshua Graham. In order to claim his spot as Legate, he was sent to the town in the divide to fight the NCR. But as we know, the nuclear attack obliterated everything, and Marcus Maxus and his legionaries were buried in a highway tunnel. After several attacks from the tunnelers, Marcus was the last one alive. He reflected much on his life, and realized how much of a beast than a man, he has become. He escaped the tunnel, but his skin was flayed off and he became a marked man. Realized he has become the beast he no longer wished to be, he rebuilt this legate armor from scraps of the old world, and with the help of some former NCR rangers turned marked men, he escaped to Arizona. For whatever reason, Marcus Maxus could survive without the need of radiation. When he finally arrives to Arizona, Marcus seeks work as a bounty hunter, hunting slavers and enemies of humanity, seeking to redeem himself, and cleanse himself of the past. He struggles with his blood lust and shameful enjoys killing. He attempts to use this toward evil people but sometimes can overboard with his killing methods. Marcus genuinely cares about the poor and unfortunate offering his services for free to them. He's serious and speaks in metaphors and monologues. He's very strong and as the bond between the player and Marcus grows stronger, he becomes more protective of the player.

4. Razor Blade - a former member of the scorpions, he left the gang due to the lack of leadership, and lost of focus within the group, so joined the Kings for a while before deciding that they were too soft. Razor Blade liked the scorpions name but liked the kings outfits, so he moved to Nuevo Pueblo (Tucson), Arizona and started a new clan of Scorpions, with similar black jackets and pants as the kings except with scorpions on the back. The group is small but Razor Blade takes jobs from other gangs in order to gain reputation for his gang, and gain membership. The scorpions do manufacture and sell drugs, including there latest creation, "Spice," that gives the user super hero like abilities with the consequence that there limbs will be crippled and there health will dwindle. The effect lasts for one in game hour. You work for Razor Blade for a whole but eventually his gang is attacked by the Trifecta Syndicate and The Skulls, in Nogales chapter, he ask you to join him in the attack of the head quarters of the Trifecta Syndicate and taking out the leaders. Eventually the Syndicate is defeated but Razor Blade decides he wants to leave the gang business behind and become an explorer like you. Razor Blade is a fast talking, always has something to say, big mouth with a sense of humor. His big mouth always seems to land him in trouble but seems to be able to get out with his head still intact.

5. Martin the Mantis - In the Ark Offices in Arizona, Martin McDonald was working on a mind transferring device when during a test trial, his pet mutated prey mantis interferes causing Martins mind to transfer over to his pet. Martin lives in the defunctional Ark offices, continuing to work on experiments. Eventually the player gets involved in one of his weird experiments and eventually the labs explode. Martin reluctantly joins the player. He's a sarcastic little guy, but incredibly smart. He helps the player with a lot of scenarios.

6. Thomas the Eyebot - with his origins not exactly known to the player, he's a lonely little guy seeking a companionship. He's found breaking down near a ditch, which the player needs to find pieces to fix him. Eventually the player learns more about Thomas's real origins and the secrets he holds.

We've been basically covering companions at the moment, thedemonjackal has a lot of great ideas and has been helping me with parts of their dialogues, he's been very useful the GBM Team, lol.

Basically guys, if you guys have any questions, as far as factions or locations or story, I can fill you in, I just need you guys to ask because it's a lot to cover in just one reply.

Also! Guys, if you can give me a list of useful scripts, to implement, into the game, that would be great!

Thanks a lot, Dev, I'll take a study of those over the weekend.

Generally, I'll try to do this as simply and without giving out too much information as possible.

You play as a ex-ranger, out on the run from bounty hunters sent to kill you after you've charged with a heinous crime, that you may or may not have had a part in. Regardless, after several years, you arrived at a town called "Green Valley," (That' s in Arizona) where you decide to hunker down, and retire your badge. After a couple of years though, it seems that trouble has found its way again into your life, in the form of abductions in the town, causing you investigate the situation. After being asked by the N.P.F. (Nogales Police Force), to take care of the Raiders, you decide to continue working for them, figuring your skills as an ex-ranger could be essential to the group. The player can later decide if he wants to keep working for these guys, the "good guy" route, or if he wants to be more of a rogue or "bad guy," there will a point very early on that will let you decide your destiny. Regardless, in one of the final quests, you come across a place where you learn about a guy named "Baron." You are told he is somewhere in the Mojave, where you come across a massacre at Bonnie Springs, where you are told that the Baron actually lived. You try to investigate what happened in the town only to find out that the U.S.A.F. (United States Armed Forces), was involved in the attack. As you figure out more and more clues, you realize exactly how much Baron is actually behind all the major events in the game, including some other major things further along the way that could very well hold the fate of humanity in this man's hands. Is he a Hero? Is he a villain? Or he more than either of those two things? Choices are what define us, and we are what we choose to be. That is the major theme throughout this mod. What qualifies someone to be just a bad guy or a good guy? Or can someone be both, or maybe even more than just those two things...

This may, or may not be the most detailed description of the mod, like I said, it's a work in progress, and there a LOT of things left to be implemented, but hopefully that could give you some idea at what you were wanting to figure out.
