Hra Krak
trying to move on from Vannilla game, have had some great support from Maigret and she hooked me up with what look like really cool mods, however, having spent the day loadin and applying I have ended up removing everything and sitting in here thinking......ok, grits teeth and starts again. No reflexion on the Maigret AT ALL, she has been a diamond but I is a twit and I need to rise up to the challenge slowly. now. Mods, what is the latest body upgrades for a virgin Oblivion game with official plug-ins such as the SI and KON...? Patches are already in place. games had no glitches save the ALT_TAB process where upon the game needs a ripley. I was recommended Gothic Breton but one suck is the data is unreadable format or damaged, and it tells me this waay into the download. I guess I should start with a mod that changes bodies, yes? or perhaps just a new character as I think I will build a new character to get into the new set-up. Dig? ok, help me by connecting me to a body mod, or kick my arse for not making a perfectly good maigret mod fail....but I`d like the assist first. My character will be a Breton female regardless :thanks: You know what, this is where I show how green I am, I missed a basic process, that of a body mod required type of something........not bad for a numpty mistake, I suppose I could have been trying to apply Oblivion mods to Morrowind....that would be higher on the scales of dunce cap moments....well, it is my second day.....Lol Sorry to have made you read this, am rectifying the situation as you read, bye. ihateregisteringeverywhere
Oh nothing, it's just that it would be easier to understand the post if it was written in Sanskrit with cuneiform script.
Hra Krak
Oh nothing, it's just that it would be easier to understand the post if it was written in Sanskrit with cuneiform script. yeah, newbies dont speak your language.....I couldnt get eyecandy and I was very lost and confused but I managed to have eyecandy and now I am going to follow Maigrets instructions more carefully so that I dont upset the non-newbie speaking populace of this admirable site.... Learning by doing. I`ll pick up the language as I go along and maybe in a couple of years we can have a civilised conversation? No, I am not being rude, I am being honest. When I am as you I will make sure to read posts like these and reply with something along the lines of, " I am sorry, you sound confused, why dont you start at the beginning?" " What is it you were trying to do?" " Ok, that makes no sense to me, but I would like to help, how about you tell me ....." Now you might think I have gotton off on the wrong foot and misunderstood you. I havnt, but for the better part of 18 hours I have failed to achieve a goal and I am a little vexxed with myself and then I get it into my head to ask for help and I get? Smarts. Funny though that was, a question, an offer of assistance included in your reply would have gone a long way right then. Its what I would have done and I know its a bit reckless of me to comment on other peoples ways of doing things, especially when I am the visitor so to speak, I have perspective, You is a resident I as of now I have yet to make myself welcome. How about I say hello? I am a complete newb, pc newb, although I did rebuild this rig. Forums newb, they are a new fun place to meet people, right? Newb to most things except TES. I`m an RPG fan, I used to have the dice. BUt here I be a newb. Wanna say hi to the newbie? My vexxed state is abated and I can now enjoy, wish I could put my artwork in here, someone could make use of it I guess, I will work it out. First though I have things to download and attempt to make eyecandy clothed, its nice but it definately needs some carefully selected clothes...hmmmm, shop mods.....Maigret said something.......thanks to peeps for getting me this far :thanks:
ihateregisteringeverywhere
;D Excuse the cheapshot :P Anyway you'll find a starter on how to install mods here. Other things I should mention are that you'll be needing an extracting program - you probably have one but I suggest using 7zip - mostly because it supports a wide variety of formats but most of all it has its own format which many modders started to use (Which's gettin' many a new guy baffled, one guy asked if it's a netmeeting file recently). There are two kinds of mods, that usually come in on of three types of packaging. The first kind has a esp included, this is your standard plug-in, the second kind does not, these are "replacers". The mods are either merely packed, come in a OMOD or come with an installer. Packed mods usually(unless badly packed) need to be extracted dirrectly into the Oblivion\Data dirrectory. To be more precise plug-in files (*.esm, *.esm) go into oblivion\data, meshes and animations(*.nif, *.kf and their respective subfolders) go into Oblivion\data\meshes, textures (*.dds and the subfolders) go into oblivion\data\textures. In case you don't have those yet, you need to create them yourself. In case you didn't copy either right, you'll be getting exclamation signs or missing body parts in-game. OMODs install themselves, but you need the oblivion mod manager to run these. Most packed mods can be converted into OMODs. Installer packages again install themselves, but TBH they're rare and usually only replacer packages(like HGEC high resolution textures) come with those I also strongly suggest using the unofficial patch. Cuneiform script ;D.
Maigrets
Excuse me, but I spent several hours last night in PM's trying to help you with your mod problems. I linked you to the PINNED MOD FAQ on the Official forums and I thought I explained how to install these mods and offered to help more if you required it. I don't know what time you posted this since we are on opposite sides of the world, but I feel as though I wasted my time. My Gothic Breton mod is packaged correctly, has a comprehensive readme and is being downloaded every single day. I check my mods regularly to see if anyone needs help and I have had no complaints about broken or corrupt downloads. I would download my own mod and check to see if it does have a problem, but it would take ages since I have slow internet compared to the rest of the world. However, the current file has had 2625 downloads and no-one has reported a problem with the download, but have commented on the actual mod itself. I also explained everything that the above poster did in much more detail except regarding a program to extract the files. You already have one since you are using one of my other mods. I also left answers in your other thread regarding these issues. Read the Pinned FAQ I linked you. It explains everything you need to know and more. You should chill and take things slowly like I said and install one mod at a time, especially body mods. Make sure they work then install a race mod. Yes, you do need the body mods installed before using any custom races.

Hra Krak
Sorry for the vexxed idiot mode yesterday, but all is rekletavely well and maigrets has done a fine tuition job, I didnt see the post saying bodymod first but thats all done now. I have a couple of problems, ones on results. I seem to have deactivated the standard eye set somehow, all Npc`s have really dark eyes and I could choose to have them in the standard set-up choices too...blue completely dark or brown completely dark.... they all look the same. Second is choices for clothing armour to make full use of this amazing body mod and breton goth set-up. I like my characters to be a little more realistic than fantastical in this respect, I carry a knife and fork and stuff like that. Although I have seen some excellent choices ion offer they tend to be a little.....outlandish? I would like a set of armour for battle and some travel wear, day to day stuff, stuff youd wear to go to the supermarket. The local pub. I have seen so much that wouldnt suite and there are alot of "classical" armours but nothing....really down to earth practical. I am sure there is, I just havnt found it. I have all the links for high end clothing and weaponry, so its just the day to day wear of a wondering traveller I am looking for. Thanks for the excellent advice I have indeed calmed down and used one mod at a time. :thanks:
