Ikyoto
I managed to finish the mq before finishing level 16 - and then the character is useless to me? No - I started another game with a new name and did all the OTHER stuff first. But come on - we all know the holes the size of real craters in the ending. Fawks didn't want to go in for no reason what so ever - the paladin goes in and you live but go slumming for the rest of your life? I don't think so. I'm hoping someone can point me towards a mod that will allow play after the paladin's sacrifice or one that kicks the super mutie in the nads and makes him push the damn buttons so everyone can get on with their life. If it includes a huge amount of fresh pure water (like the entire basin!) that would be in keeping with the story line. Bethesda made a great game for people to mod, but if this writing is an example of what they do for wrap up, this will be the only game I get from them. The team up with MS was bad enough, the plack of support for DLC for Playstation 3 worse... the seriously weak ending was the capper.
Solon
You are right, the ending does suck a bit.But in April a new downloadable content pack named Broken Steel will be released. It will change the level cap to 30 and lets you continue after the main quest. I rather hate the whole Microsoft points system and am disgusted that Bethesda Softworks would even consider such a way to make extra money. After 3 packs you would have spend 30$, thats the price of a expansion pack. So, if I was you I (ofource!! ^^) would NOT do anything illegal, wait untill April and would buy the content pack. I would NOT go in search for a torrent, although I know there most likely will be plenty of good downloads you can find on internet. So although most country's do not even have Microsoft points and I find the whole idea of paying 10$ for a MINOR expension sickening, I would still NOT do anything illegal nor would I suggest doing it as it is a breach of Nexus Rules. Ikyoto
I've seen the Operation "Frozen Plotline" DLC and if that's what they have to offer, no thanks. The armor that a 4th level figure can gain is way out of balance. My son's friend played it with a brand new, "gosh, what a bright world this is with no walls!" out of the vault character and before he made it to Megaton, he got the radio signal for the Outcasts begging for help... That they didn't need. He found the location and proceeded to follow the outcasts through a ssingl path to their outpost, himself doing nothing but picking up scraps left over by the advanced weapons and armour totting jerks as they left a path of destruction that was best matched only by the last batch of chili my wife made! He went in to this VERY "point a, point b, choose one from column c d or e and then repeat until all are done" game in a game and walked out 4 levels higher with a body suit that makes him godly and enough weapons and ammo to keep him on a throne! How much lack of depth could there be in a "expansion"? Play this and find out! Single photons have more depth! I've seen more thought come out of the nose of a chimp with a sinus infection. After this there has to be a removal of the level 20 cap just to keep people's interest. I'll stick to mods. At least some of the folks here are trying to make things that make... uhmmm... what's the word? Oh yeah - sense. Something that the DLC writers need a case of. I won’t be spending a dime on it.
