Skyrim Crashing

Hello Community,

Recently reinstalled Skyrim along with my typical mods. I am running Alternate Start and am able to get into the game, create my character, and spawn into the game, however when I try to open a door into the open world, I crash. I have turned on the crash reporter, however do not have the extensive knowledge to be able to figure out what is making me crash and was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction or tell me what I need to fix, uninstall or install to make my game run properly.

How would I post my load order?

Also what would be a crash log in this case as I can only find that the papyrus log is what skyrim generates?

There are three versions of Skyrim out, the original Skyrim which id usually referred to as "Legendary", Skyrim Special Edition which is usually referred to as "SSE" and the Anniversary Edition of SSE which came out on November 11th of this year. Which of these versions you are playing is essential in answering any questions you may have.

 

In order to post your load order there are two ways that I know of. One is to run LOOT, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the page and then click on "Copy load order" this will copy your plugin load order to notebook. As you are using Vortex and from what I understand LOOT is integrated into Vortex you may have to go to the Vortex forum to learn how to do this.

 

The other way is to go to users>your name>AppData>Local>Skyrim or Skyrim Special Edition>plugins.txt and copy that file to notebook.

 

In the editor control area at the top of the page you are on just left of "Font" there is a green and white icon, click on that and choose "Spoiler" paste the load order txt file you have copied into the text area provided.

 

As for the crash log I really do not know. I believe there are some mods out there which will generate a crash log but unless someone who reads this thread knows of one you may just have to google for it.

 

The two most important facts which someone must know in order to give you any assistance are the version of Skyrim you are playing and your load order.

 

Crashing consistently at a certain point in your game is usually indicative of a mod conflict, although not always. Anyway, make sure you are posting in the correct forum. This is the Legendary forum, there is a SSE forum. I would also give the Vortex forum a look as they have expert advice on just about anything related to Vortex.

I can only comment on a few mods in your load order as there are a number of mods which I am unfamiliar with.

 

I would definitely use USLEEP which is Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch; this patch fixes many bugs which are inherent in the basic game. Having said that I am fairly confident that is not your problem.

 

I would guess it is one of your climate mods. As I recall ELFX weathers and Climates of Tamriel are incompatible. You also have Climates of Tamriel and True Storms which I believe need a patch.

 

I have never used Sclongs of Skyrim or Sex Lab or any of the related mods so someone familiar with those mods would have to give you advice on whether they could be causing you problems.

 

I would get rid of ELFX weathers and exteriors and True Storms and see if that helps.

Removed all the Enhanced Lighting mods as well as True Storms, however I still have the problem of crashing when I try to enter the open world. I can spawn into a tavern and walk around in there and talk to NPCs but the moment I wish to go into the city it goes to load screen seems fine then crashes. I appreciate all the help. I know I can open and close the game trying each and every mod by enabling groups of them but wish to try to figure it out through a different way in case I run into a similar problem at a later time.

Decided to stop wasting time a just slowly disabled different overhauls and seems like immersive citizens - ai overhaul was causing my crashing. Again appreciate you taking the time to try to help me troubleshoot my modded skyrim
