Jenlyn Fayre
I think the Dunmer (High elves) are overrated and Nords and wood elves are underrated.
Crim, The Red Thunder
yes, but the problem with that is that you have to be able to kill a golden saint, HAVE a grand soul gem, and be able to fork over 100000 gold for the transaction. OUCH! The one NATURAL source, raises speed 200 points, constant effect, and a simple resist magicka for 10 sec spell will cancel the blind effects! so you get it ALL!!!!!!! And im not even going to MENTION the possibility (read: IMpossibility!!!) of trapping an ascended sleeper...
Eiade
By the time you are level 20 you should be able to easily kill an Ascended Sleeper or Golden Saint. And it's not like there's a way to sell anything for 80,000 anyways, unless you want to spend a month with Creeper, so it's nothing to fret over. Plus, once you get Azura's Star, you can keep on soul trapping with that one item. And there's a infinite supply of summon golden saint scrolls to buy from the enchanter at the Caldera Guild of Mages. Just because beast races can't wear boots doesn't automatically make them crappy. This has already been debated.
hyperk3
Overrated-Dunmer, "quick quick i wanna be a dark elve" thats what everyone i know says" everybody picks em, i don't think ther that great really... Underrated-Hmm i would have to possibly say Redgaurd. One because i never hear any one say anything about redgards so i dont think many people play wit hthem, at least as their main character. And two because they have an over all combat stat bonuses, especially that +15(??) to longblade ^_^ Adrenaline rush can also help you when your in trouble. But hey what do i know, not like i hack into people mmorrowind saved game folder and check if they have redgaurds or not....
Crim, The Red Thunder
ummm... sorry? I didnt mean to offend here... i just consider argonians a little underpowered, and i havent played much with khajiit yet... i just looked at stats for that... and i dont really like the way any of the khajiit look either...These were just personal opinion, and no beast race is automatically underpowered... As for killing some of those creatures, when i played the x-box version of the game, i had a Level 26 character and i couldnt complete the quest for the dwemer puzzle box... and that's just pathetic (Breton-female, custom class, specialized in ALL forms of magic, plus alchemy, and enchant as minor skills, and a long blade major skill. And i had a steel dai-katana (and a full set of Chitin armor minus the helm)... and i couldnt survive the guy on the bridge...) This definitely puts an ascended sleeper out of the question... Im not dissing any one race, or person here, but i had a horrible time with such early, and EASY (yeah right...) enemies... Since i played the PC version, i grew VERY attached to the boots of speed and the apostle. (That levitation can be danged useful in some places... and it's better then having to go back to vivec everytime... especially since you cant cast good levitation spells yourself... not to mention, the cheapness it provides for archers! (hover at the ceiling, and slay your target when they cant hit you... see the note on my bosmer.) that's why... I could probably try one now, but only if i had a mod with another speed source in it... (I grew a little TOO attached to that +200 speed...) again no offense, and i honestly havent played with every character yet, so a lot of my knowledge is from other peoples opinions, and what ive read online. sorry if i offended anyone here... *hangs head in shame* Edit: I was referring to the cost you pay an enchanter to make the item... Why on VVARDENFELL would you SELL a golden saint/ascended sleeper soulgem? much better to save your cash and use it with an enchanter... (Of course, some people prefer the cash, but i use alchemy and Ajira to make money... lots of money...)
Malchik
Crim, if you like levitating (and I do) it is easy to make a constant effect ring. Very light to carry and it only needs to be the minimum to have you floating wherever you want. You don't wear it all the time of course. As for the races, each to his own. The higher the level the less difference it makes anyway!
Eiade
No I wasn't offended. I just always seem to zealously defend the beast races; I was simply defending a point. You are definitely entitled to your opinion. Yes, you are correct that some enchantments cost a crapload of gold. I just don't really mind not having boots. I don't really use Boots of the Apostle of of Blinding Speed, although they are excellent items. Underrated-Hmm i would have to possibly say Redgaurd. Very true! Noone ever talks about how good their Redguard character is (except Cete). I've always thought that Redguards were the best fighter-based race because they focused more on agility than all the other fighter races. And that +15 in longblade definitely comes in handy. unafragger
My first main character was a redguard. I love the redguards. His main focus was long blade and light armor. One of my favorite characters to play with. I still play him occasionally when I just feel like slaughtering something. Although, he was on the XBox, I much prefer the controls and such of the PC. So, now i'm working with an Imperial. Although, that seems fairly easy. I'm thinking about starting another woodelf, and joining the Assassins. :)
nzdbox
most overrated: bretonmost underrated: redguards i like redguards. my first char was one, at level 15 or so he could kill basically anything that was accessible to him at that point. loaded him up with a daedric katana and dark brotherhood armor back then (got the katana from a plugin that adds a trader in balmora called zed). ive stalked the forums for a while since i got my first thread locked (i got over it) and i havent seen many redguard comments (actually what ive seen the most is comments of memod and before that polls, stories and a few stupid questions)after the redguard i built a nord. i didnt have as much fun with my nord as with my redguard, but it was fun nonetheless. i never created any other char other than redguards and a nord. however, i did see a wood elf and a dark elf at my friend's, and another friend built a breton. both talked about how powerful the breton was. i wasnt honestly impressed: i like challange after all, wich is the weak point of morrowind. after a while, its too easy. .. oh wait, i DID create another char. an imperail. made him part of the imperial legion, specialized in speechcraft, medium armor and long blade if i remember correctly. he wasnt bad, but i like freeform play more than quest following, so i kinda got bored with him. i think no one ever talks about orcs either. i never even thought of making orcs (they got a nice bonus to armorer, but who cares that much anyway? and their axe bonus, i like nords more anyway). but did anyone here ever make one? Crim, The Red Thunder
i know how useful it can be... i am real thankful for the 'puzzle canal expansion' mod, since it gifted me with a 'racerplume belt', with constant effect levitate 15 points... and of course i dont wear it all the time... just when i dont have the health or armor to fight the enemy in a fair fight... or when traveling in the wilderness (flying high enough that cliffracers arent a threat!!! not that they are anyway...), or just about any other time... but it is a bit unbalancing, even for non-marksman characters...
