HStevens14
Hi there trying to figure out how to add mods to skyrim with the vortex mod manager, i have both mods enabled (This one and alternate start) but it won't show in the mods area or load order in game (Not sure if it's supposed to or not) but ran a test and the alternate start mod didn't function so assuming there's an issue, I don't have a necessity to go through vortex if there's a way for me to manually install the mods that would work great as well, but same scenario i downloaded the manual version and dropped it in the steamapps>data folder and no go there as well, please let me know what the correct folder would be manually and or how to correctly install on vortex whichever works thank you! anjenthedog
Hi, I think you'll need to be more specific, and it is almost always "best practice" to include a mod or load list, so readers (and possible answerers!) know exactly what you're talking about If a mod or load list is long, it's always nice (most readers prefer it) if an OP puts said list into a spoiler tag. The spoiler tag can be added to a post by clicking on the white & green-lined icon just left of the "font" box in the post test editor, then choosing "Spoiler" from the dropdown, then pasting the list into the provided textarea. One general rhetorical question. Did you not only install and enable said mod(s) but also fire off the deployment? If they are not deployed they won't show up in game. The deploy button is located in the top-bar menu in the "mods" tab of Vortex and is labeled "Deploy Mods" regards

anjenthedog
I never hit deploy!!!! omg thank you soo much!!Heh.... a classic problem. we've all been there. I still do on occasion when I'm not paying attention. I've set my Vortex to handle FNIS operations in the background (when FNIS is called). It *is important to follow the installation (see the top of the bar while you install). It will Ask if you want to install the mod (you need to catch that or it will disappear after about 60 seconds (not the end of the world but it's something that one can miss) Usually (though not always) ask if you want to enable the mod Ask if you want to deploy the mod And if you don't have FNIS set to work in the background, during the deployment phase, eventually the FNIS applet will pop up and wait for you to check whichever boxes apply to you, installation and run it. For a beginner, I'd recommend keeping FNIS as a foreground operation until you gain confidence in its operation.say "yes" to the first three and do whatever FNIS asks you to do. And I'd strongly recommend that you not "bulk install" mods. That's an almost sure way to cause you headaches. Install one at a time and check game operation afterwards, BEFORE you install another mod. That way, you *can always just uninstall the last installed mod without facing potential problems with your game. As time goes by you'll read enough stuff in help topics to understand why. I don't want to bore you with a long explanation. regards
