How long does it take for NPCs to respawn after death?

Hi. :) How long does it take for NPCs to respawn after they've been killed? I "accidently" killed Oengul War-Anvil without checking if he had any missions to give out, which it turns out he had.

Ummm. Until the next time you start a new game or reload prior to killing him. Named NPCs stay dead. Generic guards, soldiers, and the like will respawn but for named NPCs, dead is forever.

And the like? Who else respawns?

Dungeons and areas that are not flagged as "Never Resets" will respawn either every 10 or 30 days. This means that enemy characters will respawn, as will plants, loot and ore (mostly).

But 'named' characters do not respawn. Sorry :sad:

 

Of course, you could just say to yourself: "Well, Skyrim is a tough place and people die," and that will give you a reason to play through again with another character. Or you can reload a save. :)

Just use the console and resurrect them, if you have a save prior, use it if they are still alive in that save.
