Fallout 3 crashes when .ini is edited

Without Crashing to desktop. It says "Fallout 3 has stopped working" about 1 second after you see the very first screen when the game boots up saying "Bethesda".

This is very infuriating because i just want play my damn game without the font being stupid. Such a simple fix, such a lot of issues. And the thing is, ive done this before and i know i can get it working because i have done so before. But i've reinstalled windows since then so now i have to do it all again and i just cant figure it out.

 

 

First, it is against the Terms of Service (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules ) to necro posts. I believe the time limit is 6 months. The last post here was almost 4 years ago.

To solve your problem, try removing the unused fonts so that your .ini looks like this:

If you installed the game in the default location (Program Files), you will continue to have problems.

 

I know I am breaching protocol in a major way by posting a comment so long after the last one, but I wanted to confirm that your proposed solution fixed the DarnUI related crashing on launch for me. This is the only solution I have found anywhere online, so I wanted to confirm its effect for posterity.
