LE Horizontal Stealth Attack

So after playing Skyrim for several hundred hours, I've had one thing that always bothered me, and that is the sneak attack animation for the non killmoves. Wouldn't it make more sence with a quick horizontal attack (left to right) over a vertical one?

 

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could come out of a roll, quickly draw your sword or dagger and flow straight into a quick slash. Or if sneaking, no roll, do a quick slash that flows into the normal vertical attack?

 

If any modders out there have any insight into whether this could be done or if it has been done, that would be great.
