Deltobbi
either use less ammo, or, no ammo at all. It just gets really annoying having to give them ammo again and again and again as they go through it so fast. Ideally I'd like it to be for every 5 shots, my companion would use 1 bullet. This is mainly needed for custom companions like Mika the Sniper. If there is no such mod, does anyone know how it could be changed in the G.E.C.K? I know it can be done cause Caring & Sharing Companions has an option to have companions use no ammo, but I just don't like the idea of that mod for recruiting. Deltobbi
ok, I was trying to use Jerichos Gun as an unlimited ammo gun for her and got taht to work, but, she used nothing but that. I deally I'd like for her to use the guns and ammo I give her and only use the unlimited ammo gun when she runs out of ammo for the others. Any idea how to do this? genovauk
don't know if this is a bug on my end but i had a companion and i gave him 1 5.56mm bullet, he just kept on shooting didnt need to give them any more. I even gave him a stimpack but he never used it, his health went down tho.
eeeeddd37
In geck under one of the flags for each weapon there is a npc use ammo option. If the option is not selected the weapon should go on almost forever. The is a mod called companion behavior overhaul mod. CBO. With it your companions can use stimpaks on their own and you can control them better. There is also a stimpak mod where you can stab people with a stimpak to restore their health. However if they are not your companion they will attack you. You can change some of the game settings so that it takes a while for them to attack you. Your companions may attack you after quite a while.
genovauk
I would prefer to have more control over my companions, How much ammo they have, how many stimpacks or health items they have, what weapon and armors they use how they react to enemies depending on what you tell them to do etc... I hate team\squad based games but if you are going to have a companion, might as well have full control as a leader in how they react and how they attack etc... Deltobbi
hmm, well Mikas sniper rifle "NPCs use ammo" is set to off, but, she uses ammo when she uses it.
eeeeddd37
Maybe it is because mika is an added npc. I have tried it with charon, sydney, and other npcs like the mutants, talon mercs and raiders and they run out of ammo as they are shooting at me. I had to change the settings and use the special weapons like wanda, the terrible shot gun, reservists rifle so my follower would use ammo without the other npcs running out of ammo. I'll give mika a try and see what happens. Also the companion behaviour overhaul lets you equip your npcs. Sharing and caring mod also allows you to do this. Or you can reverse pickpocket some times. Not so good. I fyou want charon to use a weapon other than his shotgun lower the damage on the followers charons shotgun. I think he will use the more powerful weapon if he has ammo for it. sparky84
I would definitely just use sharing and caring companions you can use it on almost anyone. only thing is their health is allot lower than the normal followers. You get essential npcs that cant die with it though. oh yeah and you can actually change the original followers weapons and take them off them. use that plus that stabbing stimpacks for npc's. which sounds very handy. don't give them any,to do it themselves they are retarded. I think those to mods would give you allot more control overall
Yossarian22
What some people say here is wrong. The responsible Setting for Weapons with unlimited Ammo is, to give a weapon an ammotype, that have "robot" at the end of its Name.
Deltobbi
yeah that's what I've decided to do. Only going to use the vanilla companions and the downloaded ones though. Using the likes of Lucus Simms, or Moira or whatever just seems daft to me. It's just the "Friend" option at the top of the dialouge box everytime is kinda annoying
