Still getting CTD's when hit with spells...

Could it be a problematic mesh, shader, or texture? I wish I knew. Whenever I get hit by spells (noteably the basic fireball spell 90% of enemies use), I get a very easily reproducible CTD. In fact, I can't even proceed with the main quest because of this. :(

 

In general, what could cause a crash in such instances? I do have the crash prevention plug-in, and apparently it DOES prevent a lot of crashes. Though this one still exists, which leads me to believe it has something to do with a mesh/texture/shader. Disabling all my mods and/or fixing up my load order didn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks guys. :)

I doubt my card (a 4870x2) is overexerting itself at all. Not to mention temps never go above 60c. It's not a hardware issue as my other games (including Crysis, GTA4, you name it) work perfectly. And Oblivion does run smoothly, if not for the fact that it CTD's sometimes...

 

Btw, I'd like to note that it also crashes whenever I die and try to reload a save. >_<

Thanks. I did try just now, but I still get the same crash. I have a few saves right now near some enemies who use spells. Be it fire or ice, I still get a crash from them. I can reproduce it perfectly every time I want to. :(

I now have a save file right before a fight with a bandit. Whenever I get hit by an arrow, it crashes. I can make it happen anytime. Tried unequipping everything prior to the arrow hit, but it still CTD's. >_<
