dsu22
Hey Everyone, I have been looking into making a mod, but have little experience. My idea is to create a new class of spells which could be used for close combat. An equipped spell could be used for short range attacks and also to block opponent attacks. (for example equipping fire could be used to deal fire punches short range, to block with a wall of fire using the block button, bash with the fire wall, and deal more explosive damage with power attacks). To better explain, I would like to create a new class of magic (in addition to destruction, conjuration etc.) with its own skill tree. This would allow you to equip one spell of this class at a time (similar to a two handed weapon). This would allow the same battle controls as a two handed weapon with attacks, blocks, and power attacks which would all use up magika (or magika and stamina). It would introduce several new spells and a new style of play for magic use. As I said I have very little experience creating mods but was hoping to see if people were interested enough for me to try and get something going. Thanks
Haugerud15328
As far as I know there is no way to add a completely new skill tree that can be viewed in the Skills menu etc. So what people have done is A.) Replace a skilltree, which I'm personally not fond ofB.) Just merge them in with other skilltree(s)C.) Create a sort of artificial skill tree through Papyrus. None of these methods are really "good" ways. You may just try adding new spells and perks and mixing them in with already existent skill trees in magic. ryanshowseason2
Furthermore all spells are associated with a school of magic as I understand, so you'd have to tie any actual "spells" in to one of the existing schools... If you made the "spells" scripted equipment it would be entirely dependent on your new skill.
