edstamos1
Acrid, their five mods are already issued and stand alone. I do not know how much more they intend to do but I doubt if the biggest cities are under consideration at least not yet. Lots of small towns still to go (Dagon Fel, Ghostgate, Pelagiad, Seyda Neen, Tel Mora and Vos)<{POST_SNAPBACK}> actually seyda neen was their first if i'm not mistaken. there's a pelagiad dialogue mod out too, by another modder. however, the two dealers have 0 disposition toward me and won't let me persuade them (just goodbye option). not sure if it's on account of this mod or another i'm using. another beef i had was with WGI (not so much a problem anymore). it makes the cliff racers tougher. at low level, unless you're patient and dodge until their magic runs out, they just throw fireballs at you from a safe distance. dodging isn't that big of a problem, until you get two at once. ash storms, if it hasn't been mentioned climbing the cantons :P setting out on a quest, only to forget where the hell i'm going. (i've only recently started to make use of the "options" in the journal to recall quest info...silly me)
Crim, The Red Thunder
I got a solution for the ash storms. Ya gotta actually join the guild though... but it's a fun guild! Cult of the clouds. Link: Cult of the Clouds What the guild lets you do is change the weather. You can do clear skies, rainy dies, thudnerstorms, red mountain weather + constant regenerating cliff racers (there is a purpose, but nobody really uses it...), ash storms, and fog.best of all, the change lasts 12 hours, is mindful of FPS, and doesnt mess with existing weather... a new version has been discussed with the possibility of seasons, and blizzard weather from solstheim. The guild is semi-mage-oriented, as far as stats, but a mage would have a hard time clearing the quests. Most of them are oriented to fighters, but can be played by a mixed character, or even a pure mage, within limits. So this mod is for EVERYONE! As for the dark brotherhood, there's one out there that is supposed to be an underground morag tong. Assassins, with no honor. It's called the rose tong. I dont remember where i found it, but the version i have is combined with some others. There IS a pure version somewhere. MAybe this will sate that lust for evil. edstamos1
Humm, thanks for the info E.D. and Crim, These mods sound cool and I'll give them a try, If you have the time, look at the rest of the posts and see if you know of any other helpfull tips! Thanks.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> well, here's some rambling on what's already mentioned (any mods i mention can either be found at the source or the summit): Morag Tong writs - haven't even joined the faction yet, sorry :/ NPC's stop in a doorway = Open console and use RA. yes, they go back to the doorway, yes it's annoying, but i haven't tried any mods for fixing this. I guess you just have to change their walking paths. i'm not a modder, but i don't think it's very hard. footsteps - i turn the volume for footsteps down because the sound irritates the hell out of me. about 60% volume and I don't notice it very often. character animation - sorry, can't help there. i find some of the animations quite comical, like when a character suddenly hops for no reason. this would require radically changing all the races in the game i think. if much could really be done at all. hand-to-hand - already discussed. morrowind enhanced w/ combat enhanced or combat moves by ghanburighan npcs not attacking when item is not valuable - a couple things. many of the npcs aren't adventurers. a typical person living in a shack has about 5 septims of pay per month. anything is valuable to them. in balmora, you're probably looking at 20 or so septims a month. adventurers are the ones with tonnes of money. 20 septims is quite a bit of money to a typical commoner.another thing - if someone came into your house and stole your plates, or a beer out of the fridge, i bet you'd beat the <not sure of the rules on the board so i'll censor the expletives just in case. don't want to be kicked out this fast> out of them. i know I would. dunmer - sorry, can't fix them. you just gotta try playing them differently. unless of course, it's not playing them that's the problem but their whole presence. in that case, get off their island ;) boots of blinding speed - i don't see the problem (no pun intended). with a little effort you can wear them just fine. (well, a little effort and a lot of money) limited quests - yes, need more quests. all i can say is download quest mods. or somebody get to work writing quests for faction leaders x) cliff racers - Passive healthy wildlife mod. or make them more challenging with Wakims game improvements. whatever's your fancy. sixth house amulets and removing selected spell - ? i'd like to know myself. annoying... bad speling - unofficial morrowind patch http://www.etherealsoftware.com.au/ltm/download.htm voices - vgreetings was mentioned. haven't tried it yet. lack of people - balmora expanded, vivec expanded, morrowind comes to life (make sure you use fps optimizer or get ready for an fps hit) leveling up too fast - first of all, make sure you don't have athletics, acrobatics, speachcraft, mercantile or security as major skills. next, don't pay to train skills (or use wakims game improvements so training is too expensive for the beginner). other than that, i would like to find a mod that makes more powerful (more mana intensive) spells level the skill up more than cantrips (1 mana spells). a 1 mana spell should only increase the skill by 1%, while a 20 mana spell might increase is by 6 or 7. greater diminishing returns to be seen for misc skills after level 50. i don't actually know of a mod that does that though...also, for enemy's being to easy, try morrowind advanced. supposedly pretty good i'm too slow (my own complaint) - level up strength. if you less encumbered, you move faster. i learned the difference when i started an orc with 30 speed and 65 str, and a mage with 30 speed and 30 strenght. hoo-wee well, hopefully you find something in there to help you. as a side note, i had roast beef for supper x)
Malchik
If you want to get rid of Ash Storms permanently get the Mood Ring mod by stormless (Morrowind Summit). This will let you set the weather to whatever you like and as far as I can tell it is everywhere all the time. It will also remove the red skies over the Red Mountain area if that troubles you. If you put the red skies back then they are everywhere but a click on the ring will change it again. Ever wanted to see Fargoth in a snowstorm? Well you can now! Crim, The Red Thunder
Maybe i phrased things wrong... it's not a 12 hour one-time thing. AS you play through the guild you get access to more and more of the guild 'artifacts' (not worth money, cant be dropped, if they are, they return to the altars in the guild... and you can get them again at will...) and each time you use the artifact, you set a 12 hour change in motion. After the 12 hours, you can reinstate the change, or you could change the weather to something else, even before the 12 hours. 1 hour rain, 1 hour ash, 1 hour thunder, 1 hour sun, 4 more hours ash... this is just a possible progression. Or you could do 12 hours fog, 12 hours rain, 12 more hours fog, 12 more hours rain, etc... for all of time! And these work everywhere EXCEPT huge cities. I think they work in solstheim, not sure. I dont think they work in mournhold, and they dont work in Vivec, or the other large city, i forget it's name (not balmora, not seyda neen...) but they work everywhere else. If you havent playe3d this mod yet, then you are REALLY missing out. Anyone can get the sun coin, and anyone except a L1 newb can get the cup of rain, which are my 2 favorites... fog is nice too... ash sucks, ruby sucks, and thunder sucks (*Grasps heart at each strike of thunder*)... IMO of course ^_^ AS for npcs, there's 'the regulars' which adds seated and stationary npcs in many locations, and is compatible with most mods that expand inn's... hand to hand - Might want to try 'enemy hand to hand' to balance things out if you use combat enhanced. They are supposed to be compatible. Also try 'fists of fire'. Adds weak fire damage to (1-2 points, but increases with level... tops out at 1-10 i think... havent tried yet, this on the word of another!!!) to your punches, and they do direct health damage. This also fixes the 'weak as ****' punches... and makes them 'strong as ****'!!!! And I have been eyeing these discussions for quite some time now. (ever since my first post here, and i looked over most things before posting... i subscribe to everything so i keep up to date...) and i try to help whenever i can. Crim, The Red Thunder
Y'know i forgot another one too... it was on the morrowind4kids page, but i kinda like it for the semi-realism. It adds children scattered across vvardenfel... Which is nice, just for realisms sake. However, you are pinned with some big crimes for killing them... (BUT it is FUN to have your godly character get his ass kicked by a Chrsyamere/Umbra-wielding-midget!!!!!!!!! WHEEEEE!!! :P Im a kid at heart myself...) I think it's titled 'generations', but im not sure... BTW, if anyone has any questions on any of the mods im using that DONT fit in this thread, PM me and i can give further details! I definitely dont mind.
Abramul
Where's the beef! 1: I want a box in the barter window that you can TYPE a price into2: You can't enchant arrows, and if you enchant thrown weapons, they don't stack3: CE Summon Whatever is only activated AFTER bartering if you sell it to a merchant, and return later
