User interface glitches/errors on widescreen.

I perfectly realize that venerable TES IV is not bright, shiny and new anymore. Recently I tried to play on 24" in 1920x1200, because lower resolutions look worse than pile of Arconian poo. Maybe with refresh rate set to 70Hz or higher it wouldn't look so blurry, but my LCD will not do that trick. Since maximum available in game options is 1600x900 I had to put the desired res in Oblivion.ini.

The game works. And looks just fabulous with bloom and AA x4.

Problem is, UI does not work properly. Screen consists of centered 1600x900 box and a frame. When I'm just wandering aimlessly all looks and works good, except for hud thingies (you know, health/stamina/magicka bars, weapon icons) placed about 150 pixels above bottom edge of the screen. Also, compass does not work. The real problem becomes apparent when I'm trying to use any menu, be it a quest selection, spell list or whatever. Clicking on the tabs/buttons just doesn't do any good. To do something I must click a spot on the screen moved about 80 pixels directly toward the screen's center, ie to change weapon I have to click a spot located up and to the right from original tab.

Ingame map is another thing - area shown is way bigger than the map frame, making navigation much more difficult.

Loading screens are shown centered on the screen, with flickering frame.

Anyway, I found something called Morrowind Graphics Extender here, on Nexus: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5535

Is there a chance to make something similar for Oblivion?
