Mavrosh
I am a modder and I pulled my stuff pretty recently. Well, I pulled the Oblivion stuff, the Fallout stuff is still up. I pulled the other things becuase of different reasons, have had a thread about it here. I want to say at this point that I have been treated well from others here, people appreciated my work (and still do for Fallout) and always behaved in a very polite way. I got bad insults and flamings about the images I post though, not so many here but on my private website. Some of my artwork contains adult only stuff and is connected to male nudity and sexuality, so people insulted me in a very personal way. As I do not care about people doing this because of some images I do, I continue my work. But when I imagine they would treat me like this due to mods I am sharing, I would pull my stuff as well. I know that a lot of modders have been taking away their work because of things like that. But it is not only that... Creating a mod costs a lot of time, effort and nerves. Then you decide to share it and 1000 people download and only 10 rate it. Hmmm... rating and comments are the only way of a user to say "thank you" if one likes the work. Or posting images. Most people do not do that so sharing your stuff sometimes might get frustrating sometimes as you do not get any feedback or feedback like "This sucks, I rate it a 1"... Again, I am lucky I did not get treated like this for my mods but I know that this has happened to a lot of other modders. Must be frustrating for those honest and polite downloaders out there... There is a few idiots out there and you have to suffer from it.

Lucherenren
Must be frustrating for those honest and polite downloaders out there... There is a few idiots out there and you have to suffer from it. If I may add my two cents on the issues: the idiots and their commentary come and go, the real talent stays and shines. Also, T3H 1N73RW3BZ tends to bring together people with similar interests - or similar outlooks. This probably explains a lot about the dog-pack (or landslide, if you like) effect you sometimes experience with "i ra73z ur m0d at 1" or "this mesh is t3h sux0rz" threads - barely coherent english, oftentimes sprinkled in netspeak, cut-to-the-chase-speak-like-a-macho-bulldrek-man one-liners, and total disregard of constructive criticism. Cliques are easy. Blending in is easy. Being in tight with the normals is always easier -- it explains why my homeland is blissfully devolving into a very normal, very phobic and very dangerous autocracy: sincerely, I had hoped World War II cured us italians of that problem. But, since we're none the wiser... and this gets us back to topic: don't let the stupid win. That's all I can say. To all the skilled modders, coming and going, my best thanks. It is still frustrating though, believe me, I can totally relate to the feeling of so many modders who just do not feel appreciated and taken for granted... :)

dragonpen61
Can appreciate why some modders have left! Came recently into forums though I have been internet surfing for many years and found myself not sure what to write, especially with expressing ideas on new mod ideas. Got all excited and wrote down lots of ideas not thinking any harm would come of being maybe a bit silly. This this mostly in Fallout 3. Did my first texture mods, basic but artistic (I hope) but not, it seemed, fitting. Got mostly ignored except basically neutral one liners except for a couple of nice feedbacks (like drops of water in a desert and I have lived in a hard dry climate) but then came the negs, the nasties and I gave up, destroyed my textures and left Fallout 3 to go back to Oblivion. While still using the forum I stay away from any topics involving mods. Sillly thing is I have gamed for years, have been writing science fiction fantasy for years though am a bit rusty and getting back into it now after writer's block, did programming at one stage, did film and video studies including planning, and did come up with quite practical and good ideas that would make good mods with hopefully not too much effort. But still I do download mods and show any appreciation through my suggetions/feedback. Kudos to you who came up with this topic! And thanks to all those modders who added to the richness of the mods and I am sorry for those who left because of negative reactions.
