n00bie
I've edited the Chinese stealth suit mesh and I just can't get it into the game. I've had just about every error there is i think lol. Armour is invisible, Armour is in game but has my naked skin texture on it, armour is in the game but it is back and above the character. Mesh crashes the game. I've read just about every tutorial there is (i think and i have searched really hard) but nothing seems to work. Here is what i do Import nif into bender.Edit the mesh i want.Export mesh to nif.Open up the edited nif and the original nif.Copy the mesh i editeds NiTriShape branch and past that in the root of the original nif.Change the NiNode's children from the original TiTriShape branch to my edited NiTriShape branch.Delete the original NiTriShape branch from the list and save. Also tried just copying the edited TriShapeData and pasting it over the original, but all that does is make the mesh look all messy and spiky in game.Tried to follow malo's Tute to do this and rearrange the bones order but i can't get it to work like that either. it just crashes the game. Any help would be much appreciated.

A little menu will pop up, click ok on that, then click the nitrishape again, click mesh then click update tangent space. Then try putting it in game and see if it works. Don’t forget to set the texture paths.

I painted on the extra weight and tried again but still the same thing.Should i be copying the mesh i want whole branch or just the trishapedata? and if i have to, which bones to i rearrange? the ones in the dismemberment tree? or in the root tree? bah i really have no idea. is it this hard for everyone to get a mesh into the game?? i did it easily with just the body mesh....... simple import and export didn't have to do anything with nifskope. junin
If you’re modifying the stealth suit and pasting into a vanilla stealth suit nif you shouldn’t have to rearrange any bones. From what you wrote, it sounds like your problem is that you are not properly wait painting the mesh in blender.
