Strayfe
Could someone please direct me to a tutorial? I feel stupid not being able to do retextures or create new models and just making OP weapons.
neunen
what stage are you at? do you have blender and the nifscripts installed yet, or is that what is still giving you issues?
Strayfe
How do I start/create a model, and the steps thereafter to the point of finishing and uploading the mod? I thought this would be easy, but I'm not very mod savvy like everyone else. Sorry about all the trouble.
neunen
hmm ok heres a few tutorials to start out on theres a wealth on info herehttp://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_N...s/Print_version and this is one on the interfacehttp://www.blender.org/education-help/tuto...rface-tutorial/ start out modeling simple stuff to help yourself get used to getting around if you have any specific questions a lot of them have already been answered on forums like blender nation and blender artists. just do some googling. but you could also ask here then once youve got your model done, there is a tutorial in the files section here on how to export it as a nif. but things change depending on what it is your modeling (ie a rock, a gun, some clothes)http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Creating_A_Custom_Weaponhttp://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4941 that should hopefully start you out on the right path
Strayfe
Well, if you could point me to some NifSkope tutorials that would be helpful too. It seems more people use that then Blender.
neunen
nifskope is more of the middle man between blender and the geck. if you want to make new models you still have to do that in a modeling program like blender. but then certain properties of the .nif file type have to be set within nifskope. heres some documentation and tutorialshttp://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSkope
Strayfe
Okay, thanks for the info. I wish I knew what to make though. NifSkope is for retextures, right?
neunen
nifskope just allows you to view the nif format files. you can assign new textures, rotate and scale objects, and technically even move verts around with numbers although ive never tried that myself. you dont have to use it to do retextures though, you could always just take the original texture files, retexture them in photoshop, save them as .dds and then assign that new texture in the geck. but nifskope is quite useful for many things, and its good to get familiar with if you want to mod stuff
cj577
Well, if you could point me to some NifSkope tutorials that would be helpful too. It seems more people use that then Blender. That should pretty much take care of NifSkope related!http://niftools.sourceforge.net/wiki/NifSk...tation|NifSkope
