BosDragon
I am running the game on Windows 10 x64, Vortex version 1.4.16 Today, I updated the game on Steam, deleted all the manual mods from the mod folders in my steam folder and installed Vortex (mod manager), re-downloaded new versions of the mods I liked through Vortex and entered the game. At first everything was loading OK but with a few error messages in-game, not vortex related. Then I went out of the game to check what might be causing the errors, and after reinstalling and redeploying the mods, the game just broke down. Now I can't even see the Coffee Stain logo when I open the game, all I can see is the white rectangle instead of their logo. The game "loads" to the main menu, but I can't see it. I hear the music, I see the mouse cursor but everything else is black. The only option I have is alt+f4 Just for the record, I am not blaming the game or vortex for anything here, I am aware that modding and probably something I did went wrong somehow but I am trying to find the solution on how to play again, even in vanilla mode. I am suspecting it has to do with Vortex changing the rendering of the game in program files, but I'm not 100% sure how to revert that to vanilla state. Even if I "decoupled" the game from Vortex, it still seems to hold the rendering hostage, at least from what I can understand. I reinstalled the game 3 times already. I changed the installation folder to an entirely different drive. I deleted all folders on my computer that had any relation to the name "Valheim" and reinstalled again. Restarted my PC. Disconnected the game from Vortex management successfully. Deleted all Vortex folders related to the game. Still nothing. I am still stuck at the same black screen I had since the first crash happened. I am trying to run the game in Vanilla mode all this time. Reinstalling doesn't do anything. So... if anyone has any idea or what to try next, please let me know. Thanks!
