"Color" is not a valid search term?

I just tried running a search inside Gopher's Predator vision thread for the word color, as I've been having trouble making changes to the predator vision settings. I was told that color is an invalid search term. It's not the first time this has happened.

 

What gives? How on earth could the word "color" be an invalid search term? What is it an attempt to be ultra politically correct or something? If it is isn't that taking the whole idea of racial sensitivity just a little TOO far?

 

Anyway, just another one of my rants.

There is a fairly short list of terms which the IP Boards software (which drives these forums) won't allow to be used in searches. These are almost all terms that appear in the bbcode or HTML formatting of posts.

 

So, although you may not see them, the characters "c o l o r", in that order, might be embedded thousands of times in any given thread. To prevent search overload, the software rejects that query.
