War of the Grand Council: The Lost Documents

After giving a toast with Daric, Isaac adopted a meditative stance behind his cover that gave him more focus on his spells. Words for incantions and enchantments whirled across his mind one by one as he picked out the ones he would use. His staff glowed on and off slightly, but Isaac had yet to cast a spell. Hmm... should I hurt the enemy? Or help my friends... He thought. Isaac made his decision and his staff stayed the same color, red.

While still shooting arrows towards the Indoril, Vallréy made his way across the deck to the mast pole. As the rain was making it harder to aim, Vallréy hanged the bow over his shoulder and pulled out his claymore to get ready for the fight. he shook the wet hair out of his face and tried his best to see if he had actually hit anyone on the other boat.

Daric quickly raised the potion in response to Isaac's toast and then chugged the potion down. He suddenly felt like a load had been lifted off his head. It was such a strange feeling... Daric then got behind a pile of crates close to Wren. He pulled his crossbow off his shoulder and proceeded to load it.

Daric quickly raised his head over the crates to get a quick look at the enemy. He lifted his head and quickly count how many he saw... possibly 7 on the left side of the boat (it was hard to tell because most of them were in good cover)... Suddenly a dart came flying past Daric's head... He lowered his head just in time. whoa, that was too close for comfort he thought. He didn't get a good count of the right, but he knew there were plenty of fighters to deal with...

The boats were side by side about 10 yards apart, and one last volley of bolts was fired. The Hlaalu guards were not injured though, because of their tower shields. The Indoril threw grappling hooks at the shipment boat in an attempt to pull the boats together so that the fighters could board. The Hlaalu guards simply cut the ropes with their swords, and yelled triumphantly and taunted the Indoril attackers.

"Aww that's too bad!" "Try it again!" "Great idea, swits!" "Why don't you try jumping over?!"

No sooner than it had been said, there were many purple flashes from behind the fighter line. They had a few mages. The fighters were having a spell put on them three at a time. Then, when everyone was beginning to wonder what spell it was, the Indoril began to board by jumping 10 yards across the water and right onto the deck of the shipment boat, behind the guards. It was a jump spell, and the battle had begun. The guards were doing most of the fighting, but the party tried to engage as well.

There were 15 Indoril fighters on the deck of the shipment boat. There were 7 Hlaalu guards, the Hlaalu guard captain, and 6 party members.

Tylen ran in with his teeth gritted, and engaged with a fighter armed with a wakisashi and shield.

Battle!

Vallrey: Since you are at the mast pole, you are in the thick of the fighting. You have no choice but to engage immediately. As opposed to the others, I will allow you for now to go ahead and write out the battle you see in your head, just to make things more interesting. Do what you did in the Everyday RP, and keep in mind that these are skilled and trained fighters, and formidable adversaries. You already know this, but don't kill once per post.

Daric: You are on the raised part of the ship (the deck on top of the inner cabin). You can wait for an opportunity to shoot with your crossbow into the fray, or you can go ahead and charge at an unsuspecting oppoent.

Wren: You are also on top the cabin with Daric. You also may fire into the fray with your crossbow, or charge into the fight.

Harver: You are still hiding behind your crate lid, and noone has really noticed you. You have attacks of opportunity against nearby enemies.

Isaac: You are on the main deck, and an enemy charges you head-on.

Tylen: Tylen is currently engaged with an enemy.

Battle!

OOC: Lol. Almost FF style... :P

"Holy Sh..." Isaacs voice trailed off as the fighters boarded. One of them was coming Right at him, and He was discouraged for melee combat. He would have rather had a nice vantage point to cast his spell, but fate had decided otherwise. His staff, still glowing red, was aimed at the fighter. A ball of fire went straight for the man, hitting him and causing his leather curiass to partially ignite. The rain caused it to go out as qucikly as it came, and the man ran towards Isaac. He swung his broadsword vertically at him, and Isaac met it with his staff.

Doh! Its still raining, what were you thinking...Can't make anymore mistakes... Isaac though at he continued to block the mans swings. Gotta get on the offensive... Then Isaac noticed a bucket on the deck. He grabbed it with telekinisis and hurled it through the air at the mans head. The man was take by suprise and stagered a good bit before regaining his balance and coming back. By that time, Isaac had another spell...

:: Clutching the spear to his chest and frantically looking around the deck, Harver's vision was suddenly obstructed by an opposing fighter. The fighter was completely unaware of the frightened farmers presence.::

You got yourself into this now get yourself out of it! FIGHT! I didn't raise no fool or coward!

:: The voice of his recently departed dad ripped into his head and broke the fear. Harver sprang up; a newfound courage swelling from somewhere in him. He leaned forward, hands to one side, clutching the spear, face painted with determination. He thrust::

Isaac: The fighter knows better and immediately engages you before you have a chance to cast your second spell. You are a mage, thus not very skilled in prolonged melee. The fighter issues a few bruises and a minor cut in your side. The pain is not unbearable, but you must do something before you get more banged up. (Enemy condition: Jostled)

Harver: Your spear finds its way into the Indoril's side, and he yells in pain and anger. He thrusts backward with his sword, forcing you to loose your spear from him and backpedal a little. He turns around, and charges you. (Enemy condition: Moderately Injured)

OOC: Yeah sorry about all this experimental battle-system stuff. Go to the link in my or Tyjet3's signature, and look at my latest post to have a list of possible enemy conditions. If this new enemy condition thing turns out to work well, we may simply refer to it as EC.

Daric watches as the fighters swarm on the deck... His cross bow was ready to shoot... Because of all the movement, he wasn't sure if he could get a shot. Most of the fighters were pretty close together so Daric fired a bolt in to the crowd hoping that they wouldn't see it coming. As soon as he fired he quickly went to a corner on the deck and hid behind some crates, hoping he could continue to shoot unseen.

:: Instead of doing what most people would do, setting up to take the charge, Harver instead holds his spear like he would a two-handed sword or a staff and he prepares to strafe with the swing of his attackers blade in hopes to dodging the blade and being able to strike him soundly on the neck as he leaves himself open::

Vallréy, a bit suprised by the sudden attack, charged at the closest Indoril and swung his claymore straight at the man, who fended off the attack and slashed forward. Vallréy leaped backwards, used the mast pole to get some power, then dove forward and tackled the Indoril fighter with his shoulder, making them both fall to the deck. Vallréy quickly got on his feet but slipped on the wet deck and slided into the back room where he hit the wall.

He got up just in time to see the Indoril fighter run at him with his sword. Vallréy reached for his own sword before he saw the shining blade on the deck behind his enemy.
