Crim, The Red Thunder
As wren ran along, with creaking, clanking armor, she thought that she would need to clean it at the first rest stop they took. Most of her stuff was sealed or wouldn't suffer, the ancient rites blessing her axe prevented rust, but she didn't put a whole lot of stock in that. (It is 'runed' people, presumably for an enchantment...) She did her best to dry her armor with a cloth and thought to smith it into a decent state of repair at the plantation, if she could. She seemed to have lost a little gold, but not a whole lot. she would need more money soon if this kept up. Wren quaffed a restore fatigue potion, and kept on running. Eiade
"Alright, guys," said Tylen. "Let's go ahead and stop for a break so we can at least try to dry our things off. My wet clothes are driving me crazy. And I don't know how seriously Dren will take us if we're soaking wet and smelly." The party stoppd on the side of the road, next to a few trees. Tylen began to take off his armor, which would be unharmed if wet, since he wore bonemold. It was made by softening bones, then molding them into armor and binding them together with resin glues, then letting them dry. Bonemold actually floated in water. It was his clothes that bothered him. Tylen began to remove his shirt and pants; he really didn't care about the others seeing him, or even the female Wren, his clothes needed to by dried. "My apologies, Wren. I really just need these dried. If you'd like to change, you may go over that hill and do so if you like, or if you really don't care, you may stay here. As you can tell I really could care less about others seeing my chest and legs." He slung his red shirt and khaki pants over a low branch of a tree, then took his satchel, sat down on a rock, and began to empty the contents to see what could be salvaged. All the bread was ruined. He promptly threw the soggy loaf and some pieces far over his shoulder for the birds. The salted meat, well, it was still good enough to eat. It hadn't been in the water for too long. Small bag of saltrice? Unedible. Tylen also tossed this over his shoulder. Hmm... Maybe he could get some food from the plantation. His gold was fine, of course. His two sets of repair prongs were fine as well. "If anyone would like some kinks in their armor repaired, I have the materials to do so, so just ask." Tylen set his things down to dry, reclined on the rock and leaned his back against the tree so that the water could evaporate from his body. He closed his eyes and rested them. Crim, The Red Thunder
Wren began to remove her steel armor (wearing clothes underneath... no daughters of almilia here!) and walked over the hill the change into a spare set of expensive clothes. (It's the whiteish shirt, with the brown pants, just for visual effect...) when she returned, she asked "Tylen, can you assist in the repair of my armor, or at least, loan me your tools for a bit?" Edit: Thanks Eiade, for the warning about the fact my character is female... being male (in real life) i probably wouldn't have thought to walk somewhere else... DOH! FlightlessBird
Isaac quickly became envious of the others with clothes that weren't singed or ripped. At least water dries fast Isaac thought. His satchels were semi dry now, at least enough to put his journal away. But Isaac decided not to. He walked over to a tree and began opening his satchels one by one. Potions were intact, except for one which had shattered sometime during their escape. Its contents had leaked, but were dry now, having evaporated on the run. His meat was too waterlogged, So he threw it out on a rock, hoping to salvage it. Glass armour didn't rust, so his boots, greaves, and curiass - aside from being uncomfortably damp - were fine. Even though they were still in good condition, Isaac took off his curiass and boots, and layed them in the sun next to his meat.
tyjet3
Daric took one look at his robe and saw no point in keeping it... It was still pretty wet and had a rip every few inches or so... the left arm was almost completly in shreds. Realizing he had to get rid of it he took off his crossbow, mace, and bags. He placed them next to a large stone and proceeded to remove his robe. He took of the robe and through it over the rock, it slapped the rock slab from the water wieghing it down, it layed over it's new stoney grave. Daric leather armor was starting to feel very uncomfortable. Water and leather do not mix well... He continued to remove his armor, the only other thing he had on was some cheap pants. With all the weight off of his body he sa next to a nearby tree and rested his eyes.
Harver
:: Harver pulled his sopping hair back and tied it there with a strip of leather. He then removed his weather-worn white jerkin. Next came his breeches. He hung his clothing on a branch. He then commenced in wringing it out. After that, he took a stock and slapped his cloths a few times. Flecks of moisture shot off the clothes. :: :: Harver sighed deeply and sat down::
Eiade
"Ahh... Finally some time off our feet." Tylen took pieces of Wren's armor, and, with some effort, used the repair prongs to fix any dents. He handed the repaired armor back to the Nord. Tylen leaned back on the rock, let the evening sun warm his dark skin and relaxed, listening to the wind. Vallrey took off his weathered hooded cape, and placed it on the grassy ground to dry. He also took off his glass armor, and did the same to his plain clothing underneath. He sat Indian-style on the ground and leaned back so that his upper body was resting on his elbows, and looked off into the sky. His right hand toyed with the short grass. "Just to let everyone know," began Tylen. "Orvas doesn't like to be disturbed. And he doesn't like outlanders. And I don't even think he likes me. But, just to be safe, be very humble when you talk to anyone on the plantation. And please contain yourselves about the slavery. You don't want to go about insulting their way of life. All we need to do is 'rent' their canoes, and I think we only need two."
Crim, The Red Thunder
Wren, still barefoot, since she wears no boots, gratefully accepts her armor and places it on the grass beside here where she sits down. She then asks Tylen "The way you said rent... did you mean that? Are we renting the canoes or 'renting' them... as in stealing. If so, i may need to be better prepared for combat. I want to know if we will be running avidly from the enemy... in which case, i might do better without all the armor..."
FlightlessBird
"I think the last thing we need is three enemies. As if the ordinators and indoril weren't enough. Dont worry, I'll keep my mouth shut about the slavery issue."Isaac was very calm about the slavery topic, trying to be as indifferent about it as possible. Truth was, he really was indifferent to it. He didn't butt into the slavers' business, and they didn't into his. He knew it was necissary to sustain Vvardenfells population, and that was that. Isaac's eyes glanced back at his armour. It was significantly dryer, but he still needed a decent robe. "Do you think I'll be able to possibly purchase a robe from the Dren Plantation while still appearing humble and not too outgoing?" Crim, The Red Thunder
"You wont need to purchase a robe, Isaac." Wren said, reaching into her pack. "If you don't mind the size, this should fit you... I had to impersonate a mage somewhat recently... Hope you like blue." *** OOC JOKE: Just don't ask where i got the robe, and ignore the hole with a red stain on the front middle... LOLSeriously, would the robe fit? It would be loose so the male/female thing shouldn't be an issue... Edit: Just found out, we're visiting relatives tomorrow, so i might... or might not be home in time to post here... just to be sure. DM's if it's necessary you can control my character.i should be home at night, but probably after the time i can get online... lest that is changed, i might not be able to post. just a warning... i know people are mad as heck over waiting on me to answer for 2 days... :(
