War of the Grand Council: The Lost Documents

"If war is inevitable, then what you choose makes little difference. You can take the path of truth and honor, discover what these documents are, and make certain the right people know what they need to in order to minimize the effects...or you can choose the path of blind obedience, let House Indoril determine who learns of these documents, and your chosen House will become a symbol of failure. If you act well, and fast, you will be lauded as heroes, or be able to live your lives quietly, whichever you wish. If you do not act, Dren will still attempt to eliminate you, and House Indoril will succeed in their machinations. So, which course must you choose?" Cloaked-at-Night considers the symbol of House Hlaalu - a scale. "You are the pivot."

Daric looks down and thinks about what the Argonian just said...

He is right... We can either leave and never return or continue our conquest and finish what we started. Our lives are in danger no matter which path we choose...

He continued to think about this Argonian... forced into slavery... sickening...

Daric stayed quiet and listened to the conversation continue...

"Well... Being a hero might get my projects some attention." Isaac added to lighten the mood. "But lots of attention is the last thing I need..." He said with a sudden dampness.

Great, a war is inevitable, so no matter what we do, we are helpless to stop it. But, depending on how we act now may determine the course of the war, and/or the antebellum effects of it.

"This decision will weigh heavily on our shoulders no matter what we choose, but it seems we've already picked a side. Is it too late to turn back?"

"I say we fight for the truth!" (hows that for a nord response...) "Whatever happens we must fight for what we believe in!"

Wren then turns to the argonian, and places a hand on his shoulder. "Friend, you asked about your legal status. So long as i stand, you shall not be sold into slavery!"

Tylen pondered on these words from his comrades. They were already up to their necks in trouble, and a war was eventually going to happen anyway. Why not at least know the truth? Plus, as it was his own house, he was personally driven to find out the truth.

"Well," he began. "I will see to it that we find these documents, for the truth is what we all must know. And I know that Daric, Isaac and Wren here will help, because hey, they've come this far right?" He and the other three exchanged smiles. "If you want you can go to the shore and leave with no questions asked, or you can come with us and learn a secret that has been kept under wraps for a few hundred years. And I don't believe we know your name."

"My name is Cloaked-at-Night, Assassin by trade. I would help you, simply because you rescued me...but Dren dismissed me. It's personal now, you can count me in."

"You mentioned you were heading to an ancestral tomb? I stumbled into one of those on my way to the plantation, sensed a ghost just before it came around a corner. I should be able to tell you where keys and...undead are. If any people are there, I might be able to sense them too...Since I was young, I've been able to know where things are if I concentrate properly, but I always feel a bit drained afterward."

OOC: the last bit is a non-magic user's description of casting Beggar's Nose. It doesn't detect people, but if they are carrying enchanted stuff, I can feel that.

Curiosity had gottent the best of Isaac. He was now entranced in his own mind of what he would find in these documents. Who knows, they could be part of some lost secret to magics or even new spells al-together. Isaac had to force himself to refocus on the situation at hand, and he resumed paddling. Isaac was now feeling somehwat fatigued from all the paddling, so he decided to use magic to aid in his paddling. The Paddle seemed to move on its own now, needing only Isaac to guide it.

"How much farther is to tomb?" Isaac inquired.

Daric was glad to hear that Cloaked-At-Night was joining the group. Since we lost Harver, and Vallery had simply dissappeared... he was worried about the safety of the group.

An Assasian... may be very helpful...

Daric continued to row and noticed that Isaac was sitting back now, simply eyeing the paddle as it moved in front of him. Daric gave a small smile and continued to row... manually...

Isaac then asks, "How much farther is to tomb?"

Daric, unaware of the exact location, turns an eye to Tylen and awaits a response.

"Welcome Cloaked-at-Night!" Tylen said heartily, and began to reach over to pat the Argonian on the back, but then almost capsized the canoe, and quickly pulled his hand back.

"Uh, well let's see," Tylen responded. "We just came out of Lake Hairan, which is south of the plantation. I think we are in the skinniest part of this body of water. It goes northeast, then curves to go southeast, then hits Lake Masobi, which is actually south of Ules Manor, and west of Suran... And, then we like... go east or something, and there's a ... like a thing, and from there you... like turn, err, and... geez just look at the map." (attached file)

"The tomb is here, southeast of Molag Mar... Today is 22nd of the Second Seed, and the Ancestral Tomb is planned to be destroyed on the 24th. So we have some time."
