War of the Grand Council: The Lost Documents

"Emporer? We have no emporer, outlander. Only the High Councilman, or some call him the 'Grand Inquisitor.' Believe it or not, the current Grand Inquisitor is of House Indoril. And it is possible that he may declare us as outlaws. But currently we are ahead of the punch. Those kinds of things require lots of paperwork and such, especially since they would have to lie about our offenses, because they want the documents kept secret. So it would take a week or so for something like that to come into effect. We have plenty of time to stop the Indoril attacks if we hurry. However, I am at the most risk. House Hlaalu has a very exact record of me, including what I look like and other specific things. I may have to change my hairstyle or grow a beard if I am labeled to the guards."

Isaac began to sit straight up instead of a slump which he had adopted during earlier conversations. He opened his journal and turned to the next blank page. Then, Isaac began to write with his finger in daedric onto the page. This continued for some time, untill he wore out his finger from a high concentration of magic. Shaking his finger, Isaac slid the journal into a satchel and began to listen to the conversation again.

"...what I look like and other specific things. I may have to change my hairstyle or grow a beard if I am labeled to the guards."

Isaac realized he had jumped in at a bad time, and decided it was best if found out what Tylen was talking about before he asked any questions.

"No, you misunderstand, i mean the emperor over morrowind. The guy who lives in Ebonheart. Isn't he capable of such a feat? And i never heard of the grand inquisitor, can you tell me a bit more? I fear my knowledge of the great houses is lacking." Wren waits for a response.

OOC: I forget the guys name, but isn't the one in ebonheart, who does have his own personal militia, and does rule in uriel septims name, here in morrowind, a member of Hlaalu? More then that, isn't he grandmaster? He was the one who made you grandmaster with the hlaalu/telvanni glitch...

EDIT: OOC: furthermore, i thought Hlaalu was the house most cooperative with the tamrielic empire... wouldn't that mean that they acknowledged uriel septim as emporer?

OOC: Guy in Ebonheart is Duke Vedam Dren, Orvas Dren's brother.

At least, that's who it is during the game...is the setting different?

What Vedam Dren has to say about Orvas Dren:

"I am saddened at his death, but perhaps it was necessary."

"I am glad you were able to spare his life, %PCName."

"He is my brother and the head of the Camonna Tong. You may find him on the Dren Plantation between Pelagiad and Suran. Spare his life if you can."

"Yes, he is my brother."

OOC: Morrowind has been invaded by the empire. Duke Vedam Dren is the leader of the Imperial forces in Morrowind, I believe. The Grand Inquisitor is the leader of the Dunmer in Morrowind. The empire allowed Morrowind to continue to govern itself, under the Imperial eye.

Daric, during the conversation, began to get very tired... He took his small bag and uses it as a pillow while the group continued to talk. Daric didn't really know much about the Dunmer's history so he stayed fairly quiet.

Just before he placed his head down Daric spoke out, "The only thing I know about the Dunmer is that they don't label the emperor as their leader... They look up to they grand council which is made up of the many houses... the houses' power reaches farther than Morrowind, you know."

With that he laid his head down and dozed off into his dreams...

OOC: Here is a full picture of Morrowind... In game, you only travel on about 1/4 of the province of Morrowind. This map tells you all the main cities and the house of their influence.

OOC: What was to be, and will yet come.

"You should probably rest for tomorrow's rowing, I'll still take first watch. Before you sleep, though...will we be *preparing* the tomb? We should be there a day in advance, and I have some knowledge of traps, locks and the like."

Wren called second watch, previous page. Is two 4-5 hour shifts about right, or how long are we resting? (I should be fine with 4 hours of sleep, snooze in boat)

P.S. Duke VEDAM Dren is Grandmaster of House Hlaalu, and head of the Grand Council. The head Ordinator in Vvardenfell is some Indoril guy, up in the hovering rock in Vivec. He's the head of the Inquisition, and seems a decent enough chap.

Wren, finally satisfied about her questions, follows darics example and lays down on a mostly rockless spot of ground, and uses her pack as a pillow, laying a spare robe over her, for a blanket. She listens to the conversation and begins to feel the weight of all the days travel come down upon her. She begins to drift off...

OOC: Yes for some reason from reading the Indoril/Dres essay I thought that Grand Councilman = Grand Inquisitor, but as I read on, the context revealed otherwise. My bad. The Grand Inquisitor is head of the Ordinators, and has little actual political power I guess. Yes, Vedam Dren is the Grand Councilman of Morrowind. I labeled Orvas Dren as the most powerful Hlaalu councilman because in the Hlaalu missions, it's only when you convince Orvas that you must become hortator that the others (the 'others' exclude Dram Bero) will vote for you (it's also clearly stated by councilman Crassius Curio that "Orvas Dren has Nevena Ules and Velanda Omani in his pocket."). Orvas is head of the Carmonna Tong, but he is involved with Hlaalu quests as well, and since you need his vote to be Hlaalu Hortator, he must be a Hlaalu Councilman. Weird.

IC:

Tylen's eyelids had grown heavy with the drain of intense battle and fast on-foot travel. He laid himself down on the soft patch of grass that he was already sitting on.

So far, they were in pretty deep poo. They had set a kitchen on fire, blantantly avoided arrest, set lose an arrested Argonian, and stolen the property of one of the most powerful men in Vvardenfell. They also had both Houses Hlaalu and Indoril against them, but each against them in a different way. Tylen began to drift off while his mind ran over everything that was going on.

Following the groups example, Isaac laid his head on his back slowly, causious not to damage anything of use in his pack. He then placed his staff close by him incase he was awoken before he should be. Then, his eyelids quickly closed and he fell into a deep slumber.

OOC: sorry for the short post, dont know what else I can say at the moment :undecided:
