War of the Grand Council: The Lost Documents

The party easily drifts off to sleep in front of the warm fire, and Cloaked-at-Night sits on a small boulder next to a nearby tree. From the south, the long eerie howl of some daedra is heard from the ruins of Ald Sotha.

Cloaked-at-Night: You hear the howl and are a little disturbed by the fact that powerful daedra lurk in the nearby ruins. You stand up, walk up a small slope and peer off into the darkness. Even in the night, the daedric ruins cast a black silhouette against dark blue star-filled sky. After your anxiousness about the daedra dissipates, you notice some of the walls of the ruins are dimly lit by an orange light, probably a fire light. Will simply leave whoever/whatever alone, or will you investigate?

Cloaked-at-Night decides the best course of action is waiting. Once Wren begins her watch, it would be acceptable to investigate, but not yet. However, he assesses the nearby hills and vales (IIRC, there are some small hills near Ald Sotha) to see if there is a good route of approach for later...and he makes a CAREFUL inventory of the nearby shadows, and checks where each party member is sleeping. (If I need to wake them, it'll help to know where exactly they are!)

Cloak-at-Night: In a couple of hours, you awake Wren and she begins her watch. If you want to investigate, now is an opportune time.

OOC: Sorry for the insanely short post!

By your map, we're camped around here:

So, here's the plan:

Head to adjacent 'shroom grove. Check for danger.

If none, lie down, begin crawling to rock (it's highlighted).

See what can be seen, taking no chances of BEING seen.

Each step is assuming nothing unexpected. Of course, one can't expect the unexpected...or the Spanish Inquisition!

"Wren, I'm going to check something out, but I should be back soon."

Removing attachments. If for some reason they are needed, contact me.

Cloaked-at-Night: As quietly as you can, you trot across the grass, aiming for two large boulders. You see noone and nothing. As you near the ruins, you hear voices, but you aren't close enough to hear what's being said, or to even tell what races the people are... or if they're people. You make it to the boulders, and you now here the faint crackling of a fire. Crouching down, you edge closer to the left side of the boulder, and carefully poke your head around. You are looking at the front of the ruins, where the path goes straight in, which allows you see quite a ways into the ruins. You see no daedra, but the intensity of the fire light on the walls on the right side of the path indicate that the fire is just around to corner, to the left.

OOC: Kudos for the TESCS pics Abramul, it helps a lot. Use them in your next post.

Wren watches cloaked at night creep off, and seats herself on a nearby boulder. She wraps her robe tightly around her to ward off the chill of night, and places her crossbow, loaded, in her lap, and her axe off to the side. In the moonlight, the engraved runes have a strange shimmer to them. A quick glance behind shows the rest of the party to be asleep, and cloaked at night to be too far off to be seen. She resigns herself to a long watch. She thinks to herself "At least the moon is out... so well have some light".

OOC: Sorry for my absence... this is sorta a late post.

anyway, correct me ahead of time if the moon is (for purposes of the story) NOT out... as this would effect how i fight. no moon means hardly any light, which means no crossbow.
