Eiade
OOC: Hey I'm REALLY REALLY SORRY. I came home from classes on Friday, and the school server had complete shut down cause or some technical error of security breach or something. They finally brought them up yesterday. Sorry again! IC: Cloaked-at-Night: Hoping that your instincts are right and noone is watching you, you take the risk of running out across the grass, and make it to a wall of the ruins. The material of the wall is strange, it doesn't feel like metal, or of the terra cotta that Hlaalu and Velothi styles of architecure use. You peek your head around and look through a crack in the wall. You see the fire, and around the fire sit three dunmer, clad in netch leather armor. They are speaking in the native dunmer tongue, so you don't know what they are saying. They appear to be a group of bandits or thieves because there is a stash of expenisive looking metal vases, weapons and other items in a corner. You use your common sense to decide that they shouldn't know of your presence. You also see a few sacks and a chest next to their fire. You continue to observe them safely, and then something happens. In the top right of your field of view from your vantage point, you see something moving on top of the ruin walls, on the opposite side of the camp. You strain your eyes. It is a Winged Twilight, something you had not actually seen with your own two eyes. Another comes into view, to the left of the first. Before you can think, the two daedra dive down upon the three hapless dunmer, and a fray begins. The dunmer are distracted, and two thoughts come into your mind. You can 1) help the three dunmer bandits and try to fight off the two powerful daedra, or 2) seize the opportunity and steal some of the bandits' things, and run off. Abramul
Cloaked-at-Night hurries back to the campsite, and wakes the others. (No thiefiness, that can wait). Regardless of the winner, there would remain a threat. It would be dishonorable to get myself killed, and leave the group unwarned. Assisting the bandits might be wise, but Cloaked-at-Night would likelydistract them more than the Twilights, and would not significantly increase their chance of survival. "Wake up, two Twilights are attacking three bandits. I think we still have time to save them, if we hurry!"
Eiade
OOC: Players feel free to respond to Cloaked-at-Night waking you. Abramul, could you edit your last post and give some dialogue for the others to wake to?
FlightlessBird
Mayor: I'd Like to present this knowbal (yes, I mispelled it on purpose) to Isaac *crowd cheering clouds out last name* for the discovery of.... Wake up!" Isaac imeadiatly sat upright, his left hand flying to his stave and his right forming a spell. The spell faded as Isaac looked around to see Cloaked-at-night yelling and waking up the camp. "Leaving...too early..." Isaac mumbled as he stood up to stretch. When the argonian's daedra statement was made, Isaac's brain fell to attention and he focused. Daedra hearts make great potions... tyjet3
Daric quickly raises and grabs his mace that laid by his side. He grabs a few of his belongings and quickly goes to help Cloaked-At-Night. He grabs his potions and crossbow and runs over to the rest of the sleeping group to wake up the more stubborn sleepers.
Eiade
Everyone grabs their gear and runs across the moonlit hills a short distance to the ruins, all the while hearing the sounds of a brawl, and the haunting screams of the Twilights. Everyone runs into the ruins and one of the dunmer is fatally wounded, and crawling on the ground. Just then, another gets bitten on the arm with a Twilight's razor sharp teeth, and he screams and beats the daedra off. He falls on his rear, paralyzed with pain, and the beast finishes him off by grabbing his wind pipe and crushing it. The last able-bodied dunmer almost met his end, but the two Twilights turned and faced the new threat of the party. All: You guys are pre-emptively attacking, you may make the first moves. Abramul
Cloaked-at-Night readies his Nightshade Tanto, and aims for the base of the nearest Twilight's wing. (Realized I didn't put how much of a soul it has---20)
Crim, The Red Thunder
OOC: Eiade, im going to assume the moon is out, and there is enough light from the fire and moon to aim a crossbow accurately. PM me if there isnt and ill change this. (God, i need to stop making OOC comments. BTW, sorry for my absence all this time, my internet was down as well. Tuesday evening of LAST week was my last time online... Sorry... 2 things though... this is morrowind only... and in morrowind, winged twilights are hovering beings. They don't actually levitate/fly as cliff racers do. However, since it can lift it's own weight, i am assuming they can fly. Correct me if im wrong. Furthermore, bear in mind that a wing would not be purely flesh... there would be a good deal of small blood vessels, so a (good) wing shot would not only cripple its ability to fly, but would cause some good bleeding. Nothing excessive, but it's not just flesh there. Again, Correct me if im wrong.) IC: Wren after hearing cloaked at nights warning and racing with the others to the site of the attack, drew her crossbow, and took aim at the daedra. She loaded in her silver bolt, and aimed at the nearest daedra, right at the center of the right wing. She recalled the words of her instructor in crossbows, back when she was first learning. "Half the danger of a winged creature is it's ability to fly. Take that out, and it's danger is diminished." She pulled the trigger, hoping for a crippling blow, taking out its ability of flight. If successful in crippling the winged twilight, Wren draws her axe, rushes forward, and attempts (and probably fails...) to maim it.If wren fails, she will fire one more shot, at an easier target, (the torso.) and then draw her axe. Eiade
OOC: No offense Abramul, but what does the soul value of a winged twilight have to do with anything? Maybe you meant the charge of your weapon? If so I would never go THAT in-depth with this RP as to actually do the math for the charges of someone's weapon. Haha. Crim: the reason that the twilights don't actually fly in the game is probably because it was cheaper animation to have them walk. Since they have full-sized wings and small lithe bodies, in this RP they will have the perfect ability to fly. IC: Tylen had seen Winged Twilights before, but had never had the challenge of facing them. Apparently they were quite frail, but you had to get past their agility and ability to fly first. Not to mention the fact that they are Daedra, a being that is beyond this realm. Cloaked-at-Night: (you are attacking the twilight's left side) The twilight pivots and sidesteps, bringing its wing out of harm's way, and your attack hits air. The daedra brings its right arm over and rakes its razor claws on your mid arm, where the chitin does not cover. The pain is full-blown as you see your blood (what color is Argonian blood?) trickle out of the four punctures in your scaly skin. Out of defense you slash again with your tanto, this time upward, and the daedra leaps back a few feet in reflex. Suddenly, Wren's bolt flies through the air, and misses the center of your forearm, only to leave a deep gash where the bolt nearly grazes the bone. The twilight is hesitant to counterattack, being outnumbered. The shock of two wounds dealt so suddenly, especially one from your own team who for some reason fired into a melee, loses you the initiative to attack again. Any other action besides a direct attack is acceptable.Wren: Your mouth drops as your bolt sears your Argonian friend's flesh. You regret firing into melee, and realize that your crossbow won't be of much use in this situation. Your next action maybe whatever you want. OOC: Haha. Well the last battle with Dren's guards was kind of easy, and we weren't hurt that bad from the battle on the Hlaalu and Indoril ships, so I'm being a little harder on ya :) . Oh yeah, and Abramul, try to be more descriptive than saying that you draw your weapon and aim for the twilight's wing. And Crim, you don't have to say what you're going to do if you miss and stuff. Let's take it an action at a time. I don't mean to be a angel, but, ya know, it's gotta be said.
Abramul
OOC: Yeah, I meant my weapon's soul-points...wasn't sure if it mattered or not. Cloaked-at-Night grimaces, but pulls himself together. He prepares for a defensive slash (up from the left), and hisses at the Twilight. It bites from the top down, or claws from the side, or kicks down low, so watch wingtips, neck, and knees
