fippmeister Posted March 20, 2009 Share Posted March 20, 2009 So, I, most likely like many others, have come to a part of the game where master trader perk sets the rate of acquiring loot and the rate of finding stuff to trade the loot for at highly unbalanced. I was wondering if it is possible to make a mod where you can hire a trader to sell things for you. You know, set a loot box (or use a companion share mod for direct transfer) to give the trader all the loot you wish to sell. He will then;Option A: lurk at one of the larger shop collections (Rivet City, megaton, underworld, or such) Option B: Travel the world at a balancing slow pace, visiting a percentage of random shops of the world, missing maybe 60 percent of sellers, with an additional 10% chance of finding a roaming trader or wasteland merchant.Either option, the hired trader will upon encountering a trader buy all of pre-selected items (Either a specific item list, like sugar bombs, caps, stimpacks, med-x & 5.56 ammo, or more general, like food, drugs & ammo) at your barter skill minus 0, 10 or 25 (selectable for increased balancing and/or difficulty) and sell items from the loot box or transferred inventory, skimming a percent of the cap value as payment, and then deliver all bought items & caps to either your house, or to another mod-determined location. Other things I'd like to see in such a mod, though not necessary for it to be enjoyable; Set up shop: find one of the larger population gatherings without many shops, like the lincoln memorial after completing the slave quests, and set up a permanent shop there, for an initial deposit of caps to cover establishing. Then, the trader will reside there, selling your loot for you, and at the same time trading with the population and roaming traders, giving a slow trickle of profit to you.I know, this one will be hard to balance and even implement. But don't we all wish to create a post-apocalypse mall, eh? ;-)Hire additional Caravan Guards: Each caravan guard will protect the trader for X caps per week. Additional pay of X percent of trade payoff optional, but will give the caravan guards better equipment and more zeal, implemented in rasied damage resistance and/or higher health. But my main question; would a mod like this be possible, plausible and doable? And would anybody with proper experience want to make such a mod?
