narrator01
I need someone to write a script or show me how to write a script that would tell NPCS to follow me, acting as a companion, after I give them 1000 caps. I want to create a mod that places a group of mercenaries that you can pay to follow you. This would give you the option to keep a companion without having to worry about them getting killed and reloading your game. Instead of Veronica or Boone getting their head blown off, it could be a mercenary who you care very little about. They die, so what? You hire another. If anyone can write the script for me, or show me a resource that could teach me how, I'd be forever grateful. I plan on using http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38059//?to create NPC's but I will do another way if incompatible with how you plan to write script. I've been reading this guide http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/45278/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D45278&pUp=1 and i think the script they include with it could be alot of help. I just need a simple script to plug in to it. The script needs to make paying the NPC 1000 caps a quest objective, you pay them 1000 caps, you pass their quest, and they follow you. Simple as that. Please please someone help me i think this will be a great mod.
narrator01
Ok, Ive been looking around different places and I think I may have a way to do this easily but I still need help. I want to attach the AI that the bodyguards near Freeside gate have, I think they have all the scripting needed to be hired for caps and then follow. But I know they are going to stop following if I leave freeside, I assume this will cause major problems if I place my mercenary company outside of freeside. I dont know how the AI will react but Im sure it wont be favorably. So basically I have an idea of how to do this, but still need help from an expert. Can someone please give me a hand
