joesifter
Does anyone know how to disable the animated glow effect on Windhelm braziers? It looks like some kind of halo expanding from inside the brazier and clipping through the iron. The constant pulsing animation makes it hard to ignore. (I imagine someone at Bethesda thought this was a cool fire flicker effect, but since it passes through solid objects and looks more like lens flare than anything natural, I just find it really distracting and out of place.) I'm on SSE with bLensFlare=0 and bIBLFEnable=0. The effect is present when SKSE64, Engine Fixes, and USSEP are the only mods installed, so I think it must be part of the vanilla game. I tried the Reduced Glow FX mod, but it didn't help.
Algabar
Ini settings and the like won't help much. This is a problem with the way light sources are positioned in those braciers. Probably the best thing you could do is to open up the Construktion Kit and change (or reposition) the light sources associated with the braciers. You may also try if a lighting mod changes them. TBH, I'm not sure if mods like e.g. ELFX or ELE do something about these braciers. On a side note: The "lens flare" settings you mentioned above don't do anything about halos. They control "lens flare" while looking directly at the sun or other bright objects. When using ENB, both should be set to "0".
joesifter
Thanks for the info. I'm not ready to grapple with the Creation Kit yet, so I guess I'm stuck with this effect for now.
Algabar
You can also try Lux Orbis:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/56095 That's the exterior lighting mod I'm currently using. Just had a look at the Windhelm braziers in game. IMHO, they look quite okay and "natural". May be worth a try.
