Benrahir
Hi! So far I've always used the Bag of Trash mod (from this site) in order to delete unwanted items, but that mod is now fairly old and hasn't been updated for long, so it causes various issues (the most notable ones is with his optional "give gold per item" .esp, which, well...it doesn't give any gold, and that if you drop the bag, there's no way to pick it up back). It should be a pretty simple enough mod, I think, but thing is that I know absolutely 0 about scripting (I've already tried looking at the script and also making them loose...and I failed  ) If anyone does this, thanks. I'd appreciate it
crysthala
This would be easy, and I'm bored as hell. Maybe not the "Gold for Items" part, since Speech is useless enough as it is. :p I could do it like this: a misc item, maybe a bucket, craftable at a forge or tanning rack for cheap (one piece of firewood or something). When you equip it in inventory, it opens a container, which erases items as soon as they're placed inside. Sound good?
Benrahir
"The Bucket of Trash"....sounds good! :D As long as it deletes items completely, it's OK, although people might also want the gold counterpart, too (seen it in the comments page of the aforementioned mod). EDIT: A suggestion, isn't it cleaner to just add it via an invisible quest, as that mod does?
crysthala
Yep, they'd be gone. Vamoosed! The moment you stick them in the bucket. So gone, they aren't even in Oblivion. They go NOWHERE. :nuke: Yeah, people want a lot of things. The gold thing's more of a cheat to me, though I might try to make it later just to see if I can. Well, back in a mo' with a link. *poof*

Benrahir
Thanks! Don't worry, testing is the only thing I'm any good for :D
crysthala
Don't be so down on yourself, man! Does it work?
Benrahir
OK, tested it a bit (you REALLY weren't kidding about the "not-going-back" thing, right? (lol)), and so far I found only two very minor issues: - The typical "You cannot equip this item" text appears. Don't know if it can be muffled, but as I said, it's pretty minor. - The "auto-delete" feature works well but IMO it may be a bit...prone to accidents. I'd recommend to change it to "delete-at-closing" instead, to give users a chance of checking out what they're deleting before doing it. - There's a space before the name. Intentional? (to put it at the top of the item list). If so, I like it  - Also, the item dissapears from the forge list if you've one in your inventory. Intentional, too? (Like it, too...just mentioning it because I've never seen that happen). Other than that, it works perfectly  EDIT: OK, looking at the scripts, it seems that throwing the trash bucket into the...trash bucket was never intended, as stated here (which doesn't seems to work...something to look about?): MiscObject Property TrashbucketObject Auto {misc item for the trash bucket so you can't throw the trash bucket away in the trash bucket} Edited September 7, 2013 by Benrahir
crysthala
The space before the name and the disappearing from the crafting menu are both intentional. :p The text appearing doesn't affect anything, it's just a mild annoyance caused by the game not liking OnEquipped events being called on non-equipable items. I know of no way to get rid of this, sadly. The problem with "delete at closing" is there's no real way to tell when the container's closed, as far as I know. I COULD set it up so that activating the thing opens up a menu that allows you to choose whether you want to "open" or "empty" the trash can, but then I'd also have to severely limit the number of items you can put in the container to keep it from being a "Bag of Holding." And that would just be annoying. And no, the trash bucket self-delete was NOT intentional. I'm still new to scripting, so that didn't quite work out like I intended. :pinch:
