sleekblind
I'm unable to add or edit Quest Topic Dialogue. The window that used to pop up when you add a new or double click an existing topic just never opens. sleekblind
I'm guessing it has something to do with my recording and/or playback devices... trying to sort through it
Belthan
I'm guessing it has something to do with my recording and/or playback devices... trying to sort through itGECK has a known problem with some sound cards that will cause this symptom unless there is something plugged into the microphone jack. Doesn't actually have to be a microphone - I just have an old pair of broken $5 headphones plugged into mine.
sleekblind
The weird thing is, I HAVE a mic and headphones plugged in... ugh
sleekblind
...and it works fine in the NV Geck, working on the same companion. I just can't open it in the FO3 Geck.
Belthan
I hate to give you a $2/hour offshore tech support answer, but you could try reinstalling the FO3 GECK (and my apologies if I insulted anyone who works at an offshore tech support call center  )
sleekblind
Haha I will try that, thanks Belthan. In the meantime, I am just scripting my companion in the NV geck, since I want to port her to NV anyways. I will just port her back to FO3 when she's done. Deleted2547005User
That's how I do it. Just be careful not to use stuff from New Vegas so you can easily clean the file for Fallout 3, and be sure to roll back the version of the file and the records. Dispite the games being identical, the mechanics bewteen the two did change.
sleekblind
Yeah moving everything over with TESnip was actually pretty painless. I just had to open it up with FNVedit and manually change the cell my NPC was in, so all the scripts and dialogue would work.
sleekblind
I will have to change some stats on her weapons when I port her back, and remove some NV-specific dialogue, but otherwise I don't foresee much difficulty.
