ThatOneGirl
Hi!, I just download Wrye Bash, because I've heard from many people that it can help out a lot! Wrye Bash is telling me that I can merge two of my mods so that they're compatible?http://oi41.tinypic.com/21b9j7c.jpgHow exactly do I "merge" these two mods? Also why do some of my mods have green checkboxes, and some have orange/red ones? I'm assuming that the green ones are "good to go" and the orange/red ones are somehow conflicting? How do I go about fixing that? Here are the orange/red oneshttp://oi44.tinypic.com/2q2pxyc.jpg Well, any help would be much appreciated.
Oubliette
I'm going to answer your questions but do not think that these answers are a substitute for reading Wrye's readme! Wrye is a complicated program and it can help a lot - if you read the readme and know how to use it properly. To get to Wrye's readme, press the little blue and white question mark while you have your web browser open. Orange check boxes do not mean conflict, they mean that the master files that the mod requires are out of sync. Usually this occurs when you're using a mod that depends on an older version of another mod, it will most likely still work however. When Wrye talks about merging it talks about merging into a 'bashed patch' this is very different from just merging your mods! When you merge a mod into a bashed patch it allows for that mod to be 'ghosted' in your load order, freeing you up to using more mods at once. You'll have to read the readme in order to figure out how to create a bashed patch.
ThatOneGirl
Okay, so I don't have to worry about the orange boxes to much then? I've also heard that things can get messed up if the load order isn't organized correctly. Can I check to see if I'm suffering from that in Wyre Bash? Just out of curiosity, say my Skyrim crashes one day. Can I use Wyre Bash to look and see what caused the crash? P.S. I'll take a look at the read me, thanks for the info :)
