Rennn
I currently have a 24 inch 1080p monitor. After a few years of struggling with antialiasing, I've become disillusioned with it.Shader AA is blurry, MSAA doesn't work in half my games, and downsampling causes other problems. I currently use SSAA (in my drivers), but even that's a lot of work to set up in some engines, and it doesn't antialias all screen elements equally. I'm getting very tired of trying to find an AA solution that works without blur in many of my games. Would a 27 inch 1440p screen still need antialiasing? I know I'd suffer a 30-60% performance drop going to 1440p, but I'm not concerned about that. All my favorite games run at extremely high framerates anyway. I would really appreciate input from people who have 1440p monitors. Also, if someone could post a 1440p screenshot with no antialiasing from any game so I can see firsthand what the pixel density is like, that would be perfect. Every 1440p screen online seems to be showcasing new forms of AA, so I can't find one without AA.Remember, don't worry about the performance. I'll worry about that. Vagrant0
At that level of pixel density, as long as the game supports that resolution, I can't see you needing AA on that small of a monitor. Beyond that, usually you're best off managing AA through your videocard drivers instead of through a game since the video drives are usually better at managing what actually happens.
