baboracus
Amen brother! In Halo Wars, about the only way you can win is by researching/rushing Hawks faster than the empie builds superweapons, and praying the enemy hasn't done the same. I wish there was some way to make rushing in a game totally useless, or have a smaller unit cap or something...
Vagrant0
Amen brother! In Halo Wars, about the only way you can win is by researching/rushing Hawks faster than the empie builds superweapons, and praying the enemy hasn't done the same. I wish there was some way to make rushing in a game totally useless, or have a smaller unit cap or something...I always felt that the source of the problem was mostly with the whole need to have building 1, 2, and 3 made before unit A can be made, but need to have buildings 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 for Unit B to be made. Combined with 1 Unit A < 1 Unit B, but 2 Unit A > 1 Unit B. Or essentially, Unit A gets unlocked alot easier than B, and although unit B is stronger than A, it is not enough to make up for the amount of time needed to meet the conditions for building B. You'll never get away from swarm tactics, more numbers usually always end up being more effective than smaller groups. And as long as 2 unit A are able to kill 1 unit B, so long as unit B isn't cheaper/faster to make than A, unit A will be more favored. The solution is really all about balance, either making one type of unit specifically weak against another type, or making it so that the costs for advanced units are worth the effort to make them, or just making them available from the start. The other solution would be to limit the number of units based on how large the base is, and making defenses, like turrets, somewhat capable at protecting that part of the base. TehDarkPredator
I liked StarCraft a lot, until I started playing other older strategy games... and I learned StarCraft isn't that interesting. Three factions... well Warwinds did it earlier. SCII, the same story. Take SCI, make it 3D and steal the pre-mission sequence from old squad turn-based games like Mission Cyberstorm. Besides, StarCraft has boring mission scripts. Command And Conquer players know what I´m talking about. Good scripts make a game world alive.
