lucasjose501
I already covered this for the next update. That's great to know! And sounds like they'll be pretty awesome. Just wondering would it be a better idea to wait for the update with this stuff to come out before I start a playthrough or just start a playthrough now and update halfway through when it comes out? The big update will take more than a moth maybe to be done... I think it's too long to wait, but it's up to you :) Something else I think would be awesome if it could be implemented, Have a bright light go from the core of the body (under the "skin colored" panels) and go outwards towards the limbs and head in a sort-of heart beat pattern. Sort of a Tron style. It would also be the same color that you have set up for the body light color. Dunno if it would even be possible, or if it would too graphics intensive for most machines. To make it, i'll need to make a Texture Swap in the Body too... And it will cause lag, ctd.. =/ Had a thought for another upgrade, How about GPS or Location Tracker, that opens all lacations on you pipboy so you can see were all the locations are, to make it so that its more lore freindly you could make it so that its only available when you have recieved certain upgrades http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Explorer
Alasyre
This looks awesome. I would suggest using larger numbers for your Hard Drive and RAM sizes, since it's an AI and should at least be better than a human's ability to store data. Maybe 1 EB (exabyte), 2 EB, or 4 EB for Hard Disk, and 1 PB (petabyte), 2 PB, and 4 PB for RAM? I mean, it's hard to imagine an android running around with worse specs than my PC. Yeah, I used MB and GB for example only. I was thinking touse petabyte for Hd and terabyte for RAM, or would be better Exabyte and Petabyte? Dual-Core CPU 1.2ghz No one really knows how much "space" a human brain has, which is what I would think to use as a basis. I say the higher the better, because exabytes and petabytes are huge quantities that most people will never deal with, so it gives the impression of "wow, that's advanced," in my opinion. Either way would make sense, really.

Your average swappable holodisk/tape holds 64KB of data, and the big ones a whopping 256KB...and apparently that is enough to run a Mr. Handy according to Fallout 1. While the built-in holodisks (like the one in a pip-boy 2000 or one of many in a ZAX supercomputer) were stated to hold 4TB...now this was still too small for SkyNet (the ZAX you meet in Fallout 2), which is why he needed a brainbot for a host. I would guess though that the ARES bots are somewhere between a Mr. Handy and a ZAX...but they also don't need all of that storage space the ZAX's use for data collection...3-4 holodisks (16TB) would probably be fine. Alasyre
Yes, I forgot about that aspect. Fallout's juxtaposition of future technology with 40's technology gets pretty confusing. Good call. Edited November 15, 2013 by Alasyre

That's the point. The 1940s logic. Well thought. So, thinking that way, maybe a lower specification that i thought is better. Like, 256GB, 512GB and 1024GB fo HoloDisks and 512MB, 1024MB and 2048MB for RAM. And single-core processor 1.5GHz, Single-Core 2.5GHz and Dual-Core 2.0GHz. Shadpweaver
I dont think you give your pretty little robots enough credit, they have a full range of human ability, can learn and acquire skill independently and make independent judgment on a human level, there at least as advanced as the ZAX intelligence, if not more. Hmm...lets mull through this...Skynet said he and the other ZAX were built in 2050...the other "True" AI's came out in 2059. it's safe to bet most of the other bots were in production around then. The ARES units...judging from the ad Andrea has...were prototyped during the New Plague scare...which started in 2052 going straight through the 2070's. That gives us roughly 30 years in which that ad could have ben run. While most research firms, such as West-tech were put into FEV (originally supposed to be a cure for the New Plague) and the war effort, House remained independent. So this is totally like him to try and turn a problem into to money...but it was likely a side-result of his longevity research. Their original design was probably limited....they were just sex-bots after all...but once the military got ahold of them...we know they were modified. Here's the tricky bit. At this point, you bring the Enclave into the picture...a lot of their stuff (including the ZAX) is built off of stolen or reverse engineered alien tech. So that 30 year tech boost just jumped to a big giant "?". There's no telling what they jammed in there to make a better killing machine.However...all of this is moot...because the hard-drive and memory aren't for the ARES units AI...it's for their subsystems...which while simpler...are probably still more advanced than the other bots. So...I guess...whatever number is fine. TLDR: I got nothin'.
