Enemies with better weaponry than they should...

Hey there!

I have to say I'm pretty tired of meeting bandits and highwaymen and their like equipped with glass, dwarven, daedric or other higher lvl weapons when you're high lvl. In my opinion, no mere bandit should have any better weaponry or armor than MAYBE steel.

So my question is: Does anyone know of a mod that fixes this?

If you did this, the game would be very highly imbalanced, TBH. With a few exceptions, the enemies don't gain any better equipment after you reach level 20. And no, I don't believe there is a mod that would reduce the difficulty of the enemies either.

If you really are bugged about facing enemies at this level, you should consider lowering the difficulty setting. Unlike Fallout 3, lowering it does not affect directly how fast you level up. It's merely there to provide more or less of a challenge (more or less enjoyment depending on what sort of gamer you are). Don't be afraid to lower the difficulty setting, or even putting it at the minimum level.

Unfortunately, this will also not change the sort of armour your enemies are wearing, but at least they'll be easier if that's your ultimate interest. Besides look at it this way, at least the armour they have at higher levels is more valuable. This means you'll end up gaining more money once you sell it, as glass is more valuable than leather.

I got the impression that the original complaint was one of immersion, not difficulty; your avarge bandits, in realistic terms woldn't have high quality goods...

Though think of it this way, if you will... by the time you're of a level to start seeing bandits out there in glass and ebony, they've been bandits for some time, perhaps, and have sucessfully taken out a few well-equipped but less than skilled travelers along the way, no? That help?

Anyhow, I belive there is a mod out there that will cap bandits and their ilk from spawning with glas, ebony, daedric etc. i'm trying to remember what it was called, but alas I'm not at my actual computer at the moment... typing from Uni as I've no internet at home.

It exists though, and it'll be on the nexus somewhere, as that's the main place I get my mods. Sorry I can't give you more information off hand.

Thanks everyone.

My post was indeed based on looks and not difficulty as I'm a player who likes a fair bit of logic (at least within the boundaries of fantasy).

Harla, thanks for the tip, I'll try to find the mod and if I can't find it, I'll imagine their some kind of super bandits.

I've also thought about this at length. Bandits aren't incredibly rich are they? I can understand one maybe having a decent sword because of a successful raid or taking it from some overeager adventurer, but every single bandit having an elven sword? That's pushing it.
