Gomezy3k
OK, I went into the Dagon Shrine...well snuck actually and killed the first guy... and slow snuck through killing and suddenly discovered that I cannot go any further. The Portcullis cannot be opened from the Shrine Antechamber side and the "Secret" rock door has to be opened from the other side also... So that means I cannot get to the main shrine, cannot get the book I need. or anything... I do have the Quest help book, but I like to do the quests and only use the hint/walkthru book when I get stumped. And to make matters worse, I cannot go to an earlier save because the next save is quite a while before this...and I like a dummy went outside and came back in which cause an autosave which over wrote the game when I had not killed anyone... Any suggestions... It seems like they would have made some sort of way in, and not have it be a one solution thing... Apparently it is set up so you cannot go in fighting.... bben46
I think you just learned a valuable lesson - actions have consequences. It is often better to think before you act. Also, save often. it's not like you have a limited number of save slots, I have seen well over 2000 saves in a game. However, as I remember, the doorkeeper has a key. But it's so much fun to kill stuff ROFL I finally figured out what I was doing wrong and what I missed... Missed a door down a long hallway... bebbe777
you can try this go to the dead characthers. Open console, click on them, write resurrect and press enter. This will "wake" them up and hopefully you can continue.
iavor55
Or simply type TCL in the console and fly to there, grab the book and run outside...thus not losing your armor and having to look for it...That way I lost my arena rainment of valor :(....but Luckly I managed to get it back with a console command :P
Oruboris
I've always just walked in and gone invisible. May try doing it the 'right' way just for giggles sometime.
Abicion
I think you just learned a valuable lesson - actions have consequences. It is often better to think before you act. There are no consequences in this case. I always used played this mission Rambo-style (ignoring all dialogue routes and just plowing through everything) in the vanilla as hell Xbox version without getting stuck. And as the topic creator has stated, the problem was a simple missed door.
