TES has one of the strongest community on web among many other famous videogames... this result does not surprise me... and, you have to consider how the game was successful, no matter the issues.

Man, the Elder Scrolls vs Fallout round would have been way too difficult to pick for me, they are both so great in such similar ways, but such different games at the same time. Skyrim is huge and fantastical, Fallout is dark, gritty and futuristic.

To me, the Elder Scrolls Series clearly deserves the title.

I have been busily designing add-ons for flight simulators for many years until I happened to buy Morrowind several years ago. Complete immersion, coupled with a huge range of modding possibilities made me give up flight simming very quickly.

The series definitely gets my vote.

Expected GTA to win, yet it's Skyrim. Gamers have better taste than I've expected.

GTA should have won, vanilla elder scrolls games are utterly dreadful. In a competition like this you should judge the game based on its vanilla state. Edited September 18, 2013 by jankir1

Have you played vanilla Top down GTA? AT least Arena and Daggerfall had vision beyond it's years. First 3 GTA games weren't anything people were singing about (GTA, GTA London 1969, and GTA 2).
