Sneak meter eye always open

Anyone else had this glitch?

 

When I crouch the "eye" is always "open" - no "detected" message is shown, and I am still able to sneak, but that eye was one of Skyrim's few decent gauges and I'm pretty reliant on it

 

I moved around the load order of the unofficial patch and better horses mod but I doubt that's what caused it - I don't have any sneak specific mods

What about followers that won't tolerate any crime. There are a few mods where the follower always detects you sneaking.

Nah, no followers for me, I had that maurice a**hole with me for a while but I murdered his pacifist ass before the glitch appeared in my game, It's probably just a visual problem of some kind (although I have an older save not effected by it, I would prefer to fix it)

Off topic but you can lose the possesive corpses as I believe it's part of the USKP now.

 

I used to have this bug and for the life of me I can't remember how I got rid of it :(

Could you have possibly removed a mod which affected sneak or anything?

weird.

Try unequipping all your gear then re-equipping.

The Duel combat realism mod, try disabling it.

Try disabling Deadlymonsters.

it must've been something that happened in game, in the end i resolved to going to a past save and haven't had the error... thanks a bunch though

I may be a few years late on this forum but i found a fix. The same thing happened to me so i decided to attack a hold guard till i got a bounty then i paid it off. After that i no longer had the bug. I hope this helps.

Sorry for the necro, but if any future dragonborn encounter this: For me all it took was waiting 24 in-game hours and the sneak detector started working fine again. Remember, most bugs in Skyrim can be solved by waiting 24 in-game hours.
