I've lurked around for a little while but recently I've had enough time on my hands to actually start working on some mods so I hope to be a useful active member for the community rather soon. I'm an idealist. So I'll probably have more plans than final products. If I make something that gets enough support, I'll follow through. Cliff hangers kill me. Anyway, to the point. I have some mod ideas I'd like to run by you fine individuals and I'd like some feed back if you'd please. I understand that this probably isn't the most original content, but bare with me. First and foremost, I'm a huge Watchmen fan. In particular though, I find Dr. Manhattan quite... enthralling. His social skills could use some work lol, but his abilities are inspiring. So my first mod will most likely be project Manhattan. In this mod I'll make a new optional quest that you can undertake to become Jon's equal. After your transformation I'll attempt to redesign the UI. I kinda don't think Manhattan would look as cool if he was going around sporting a pip-boy. -shrug- [We'll have to see how that one works out.] The abilities will include things like teleportation (fast travel with a twist), the ability to implode someone with your mind, a ballistics force field, water-walking, controllable clone companions, raw material synthesis, possibly the ability to grow or shrink, and things yet to be determined. I'm open to suggestions. This'll also be accompanied by my own custom textures, animations, and models (If I need to make any). Secondly I'm think of creating a mini-quest in which you follow Pre-war clues to the secret bunker of a paranoid billionaire. I'm still running over ideas in my head for the quest itself, but I've got the basic ideas of the bunker down. The premise is that this guy was one of the "crazies" who always thought the government was out to get him or that aliens abducted his dog or something. In following with that he build a massive hidden subterranean base filled with high-end tech, living quarters, food and water production and storage facilities, a vault for his money, and a pre-war entertainment simulation. It is what it is and I'll try to spice it up before I release it. This probably won't take too long to do so you may actually see this one posted in three to four weeks. Ah, forgot to mention, this'll also be the basis for a lot of later mods. I'm going to utilize holotapes as "game cartridges" for the entertainment simulator and spread them throughout the wasteland so that when you retrieve one and use it with the sim it'll open up a mini-game or story of some sort. I've mulled over ideas like a zombie survival scenario and maybe a sand-box open construction mode. The prospects are still up in the air at this point, but I'll definitely keep anyone interested updated as I get closer to designing them. Lastly is a long term immersion mod. I figure being as it's been 200 years since society was producing technological goods, guns and ammunition would be a lot more of a rarity. Most of that food that you find everywhere has probably went bad and probably will give you more sickness than it does nourishment. New strands of bacteria and disease have probably come about by this point, so drinking random unpurified water will probably almost kill you. Wounds can get infected, a shot to the head with no covering will most likely kill you, and you can bleed to death. It's been a while, but I'd say that radiation is still prevalent in a lot of areas whilst the amount of miracle drugs like rad-x and stem packs are a rarity. Sleep is a necessity, as is eating and drinking. Robots are less frequent and often dead from power failure, wild animals are more frequent/vicious and the wastes have a higher population. Hunting and scavenging are musts. Weapons will be mostly made, with many more schematics added, and tools will be needed in order to assemble the weapons. That's not even scratching the surface. This mod won't be out for a bit, but when it comes out it'll completely change the game play. Fallout will go from being a relative care-free stroll through the wasteland to an actual moment to moment struggle for survival. This will include tons of new models, textures, animations, and scripted affects. I may actually try to get some help when I start working on this one. Well. Yeah. I guess that's it.
