Sheralynn
As rich and magnificent the world of Cyrodill may be I found it to be lacking something, namely my ideal home. Suited for my needs and liking. After careful deliberations I’ve concluded there was only one course of action, build it myself. :P Ok I downloaded the CS and did the tutorial on the Construction Set Wiki site, which is excellent btw. So here is where I am now (and the tutorial didn’t explain this part) How can I create a room with a certain kind of ceiling and a certain kind of floor? Lets say I want a cave (walls and ceiling) with a stone / paved floor. The ceiling blocks I need all seem to have their own floors connected to them. For instance, I was thinking about using the cave at the end of Fort Teleman as a template. Simply put in a new floor. But there is one segment that has a column, connecting the floor and the ceiling. Problem: I cant take the column out, in order to make the stone floor, because that leaves a hole in the ceiling. My other option was to build it from scratch but I can only find walls and floors. All the ceiling parts seem to have their own floors attached. Thanks. :)
Vagrant0
Almost all of the models are designed to be floor, walls, and ceiling within a certain set, if not whole rooms. This is because the flexibility of having these things separated was not worth the effort of defining or trying to line up even more pieces, and because performance would suffer greatly because of all the additional entities (and collision surfaces) that would be needed to make an interior/exterior. There are a few tilesets for building interiors which are a bit separated over at MORE http://www.oblivionsrealestate.com/Resourc...chitecture.html Essentially, what you have is what you have unless you have access to a 3d modeling program, knowledge to use it, and the time to go through breaking apart these models. Depending on what you are trying to do, you might have better luck just trying to make use of some of the other smaller statics that normally go into rooms within this set, and playing with the scale and orientation while burying one inside the other. For instance, there are some block things from the fort tileset which can be used to cover the ground of the cave tile set.
Sheralynn
Thanks Vagrant0 From the CS I more or less surmised it was set up this way, with sort of prefab models, but was having doubts I might be overlooking things. Since it wasnt explicitly explained in the wiki. "Essentially, what you have is what you have" Thats ok, it just takes a bit more creativity. :) Like you say in manipulating different statics to get the result.
