Arcelas
That is a good program. I use it for gaming, video editing, and HD movie watching. My computer is old and that little utility makes it give its all. Its like Viagra for your PC.
bben46
For those who are worried about malware, Major Geeks is a legitimate site. No Spam, No virus, No spyware. Not all of the programs are free, but many are. They let you know up front. Check before downloading. I have been getting programs from there for years. M_C
My problem with that program isn't that it comes from majorgeeks (they are fine) it's how it works. It shuts down things I don't want shut down and my gaming rig works fine without it. YMMV...

bben46
I just ran a quick test of this. Without doing the other things I usually do to speed things up, such as shut down the internet and all internet related programs, turn off all antivirus, antispyware and anything else I can, and shutting off my second monitor along with the multiple monitor support programs. The test was done using FRAPS, I moved my character into the IC Market District at Noon and ran around for a few minutes. Results: Without, 15 - 32 FPS, average about 25. With, 20 - 34 FPS, average about 28 A small, but significant increase of from 2 to 5 FPS based on a statistical sample of One. Not a valid scientific test, but an indication that it does help. And, in my test at least, it helped more on the lower end where it is needed most. I would like to see more results on this from other players. JimboUK
Without Game Booster Interior Jefferson memorial with scientists walking about... min 56max 76avg 66.3 Outside Jefferson going towards Rivet City past the mutant camp(mutants deceased)... Min 16max 55avg 38.2 With Game Booster Interior Jefferson memorial with scientists walking about... min 53max 77avg 66.6 Outside Jefferson going towards Rivet City past the mutant camp (mutants deceased)... min 30max 58avg 41 The difference wasn't noticeable for the interiors, it did however smooth the framerates outdoors quite a bit. 16-55 is quite a wide range, 30-58 was much better. Both tests were done from the same save taking exactly the same route. I didn't disable my wireless connection or firewall for either test.
