Halendia
Hello, alright, yes, hello! Look, I've had this idea for ages, and based on my limited CK knowledge, it should not be entirely impossible to fulfill. Why? Simple. It's only semi dynamic. Now something we surely all want, is the ability to build and rule your own little hamlet, and this preferably without all the pesky dynamics, because dynamics requires a lot of work, and causes an awful lot of bugs. Now now, don't hang up on me just yet! While I love realism and I'd love to play Skyrim as if it was IRL, we still have to limit ourselves; it ISN'T IRL, and I prefer a playable mod to an overly complicated one with a hundred different items and spells to place shrubberies around poles (or on top of them, if you so wish). So, to get around this, I've been figuring out an idea, quite similar to the Hearthfire housebuilding system, namely; Presets! 'Boring!' says you, but I'm still hoping someone catches on to this! Anyway, basically, we'll start off with a plot of land (or rather a collection of it), with several different 'spots' where you can erect houses, example below: http://i.imgur.com/GjQwUMi.jpg Each spot has their own handful of 'preset buildings' (in case you'd want an inn @ plot #1 to look different from an inn @ #5) that you can choose from, e.g:InnWatchtowerFarmInhabited houseTownhouseMuseumTempleStore (can be anything depending on hired merchants)etc. Now, at this village, we'll of course have a representative from whatever hold it'll be built in, say a Falkreath ambassador, who will have several dialogue options for buildings in various plots, that might look something like: I'd like to build something on the south western plot (#4)... What would you have our men build sera? An Inn (20,000 gold)A Watchtower (18,000 gold)etc... Of course sera, we'll get right to it. and then, poof! A couple of weeks later, when you return, you'll have a preset, whatever you chose, built on that plot of land. No need to build it yourself, you just pay for it and rule it. Moar you say? I know you said moar. Say we want to make gold out of our land, adding a fluctuating income from each building, varying depending on what it is and where it's built. Say a +/-150 gold weekly tax income from your inn. However, we could make it more advanced, let's have bonuses on the spots! for example, building an inn in spot #1, 2, 3 and 5 will increase the income by 20%-ish, because it lies closer to the entry points of the town, same as a farm would preferably be built in #7, because of the available land around it that'd allow more crops and animals. To make things even more interesting, we could, for example, even allow the player to build his town entirely out of inns, however the consequence of this would, of course, be a greatly reduced income. This way, there has to be some kind of involvement from the player to reach the ultimate setup for best possible income. Beyond this, you could hiring merchants with different skills and assign them to your stores, allowing them to set them up as they wish and so on (e.g if you hire an alchemist, the interior will change into an appropriate store). Recruit guards (appoint guard captain), collect money ($$$) and hold court e.g. Guy comes inMy sheep died, wat do? I shall hunt the responsible chicken down myself!I'll have the town guard help you. It's just sheep, get over it.There are no sheep in Skyrim, liar! An additionally, quite nifty idea would be decorating your own museum, using weapon racks and mannequins. The more items stored in the museum, the more (invisible) visitors, the more money through town, amirite? Thug lyfe. I think I ran out of ideas now. Thank you for reading. Halendia
Have you looked at Tundra Defense? Aye, not tried, but I know what it is. While this is indeed quite similar to what I'm looking for, it's focused on defense and combat rather than townskeeping, economy and other boring stuff, AND also, on a completely different level of complexity.
