Looking to start a mod

I am looking to start a addon for Fallout 3 called The Connection or something different, based on how far it goes.

It would take place in Northern Connecticut which is all I want to say so far, but I know I can't do all of it on my own so I wanted to know if there were some mappers/coders interested in working with me on it.

Obviously I coudln't pay anyone but I am confident with the right people this could be one of the best fan made mods available.

UPDATE:

This is a section of Downtown Torrington Connecticut, this is the base I am using as a refrence pic.

Notice the Coca Cola advertisement on the brick to the left?

the story would something to do with trading, maybe a mass Bazzar type deal? If I can get people interested in working on it with me then I can build a storyline from it.

Spill the soup in this one. More Info.

Well the concept is that the Connection is like a large hub, that trades items, services, slaves and etc around New England, With Connecticut being the base of Operation from the lack of radiation or other harsh enviroments. If the Lone Wanderer is the player that embarks in this mission then the idea would be a series of small levels that lead up to Waterbury Connectcut, the player could enter via trainyard in Stamford, up through Brideport and onto Waterbury, up north to Torrington (Seen in that pic) then over to Hartford (The capital city)

The plot I have in mind so far would either to push back attacking Super Mutant forces? Something close for now but only if this takes off will the plot develop more

It sounds interesting to say the least, I think there should be repeatable quests of escorting caravans to locations and raiders can randomly ambush the caravans (maybe differing amounts of raiders depending on what is getting delivered, more will attack a caravan of chems and ammo than that of books)

I would like to also see an intact multi-level city (those just look awesome)

Well thats where Waterbury comes in, it is a nice humble looking city, not modernized like the Pitt or NYC

Plus it has a mall which would be a major trading location am I right?

Torrington is a small town but I love it mainly for the pic I provided, that Nuka Cola sign would be such an epic scene since it is a real thing here.

Btw great idea for the caravans, I'd like to add that Connecticut is home to many old trainlines and yards so travel between location to location would be obvious

Here is some more info I compiled to help get an idea of what I have in mind.

1. This is the spot from the picture I posted above, where the coca cola is. That street corner.

2. This is the naugatuck river, a small one but it is under a neat bridge...Radioactive maybe? Not enough to ruin Torrington but a signifcant thing.

3. This is Coe Park / Torrington Plaza, a nice spot for a bazzar? Empty Parking lot with lots of different vendors and what not.

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/tacoking/pipboy/connection2.png

4. Is the highway, which goes right to Waterbury. Obviously you can't mapout the whole highway, but enough to make it to have an effect right? Maybe once you start walking a message will pop up asking do you want to talk to Waterbury and etc?

5. This is the main part of the torrington leve,l, from farther out. See how small but significant Torrington can be?

6. This is the Plaza / Bazzar again.

7. This is Stamford, the entrance to the Connection, enterable via trainyard. Most likely connected to North East D.C.

8. The blue line is the Highway, which cuts off into WaterBury, a line of road and old trains. Of course you will have raiders on your ass the entire walk right?!?

9. This is the rest of the highway, going out Waterbury to Torrington, a great way to bring supples for trade back and forth. You will easily need to protect yourself from raiders and etc.

10. This isnt canon to the Connection, but I figured if anyone ever made a NYC level, the trains from Stamford go right to New York.

As to the highway, remember it's 200 years after nuclear war... You could have an empty desert with a lone road and still have it work (which would lower work time)... On the subject of the road, you could have raider bases (caves, shacks, etc) out on either side of the road. The raiders can be set on routes to go to the road and wait a few hours and then head back. So if you're skipping down the road and see a few raiders picking off a caravan, you could hang back and follow them to their bases? Then maybe include repeatable 'save the caravan slaves' quest... Maybe every day or two the base is restocked with people and raiders... EDIT: And for every merchant/caravan saved, better prices in town?

The bazaar is an interesting idea, you could have the parking lot the center of town, and have any surrounding buildings that aren't completely destroyed as larger shops/taverns. Any other buildings could have been destroyed to be used as a wall around the bazaar, maybe? Any merchants in the parking lot/bazaar could have shops a little like this:

'Cept more destroyed and empty. Or if you're looking for something lively, have it as a safe-haven for merchants and therefore really populated? Maybe have quests from the merchants to eliminate other competition? Or missions to take out raider bases for the more combat inclined?

I love the input, and yea, a desert pass sort of thing sounds great, most of the passages up here are forests so there would be a lot of decaying trees and etc. And as for the bazzar, the entire plaza and part of downtown where that coca cola picture is, most of those buildings are stores in real life at the moment, so it would make sense using them as larger stores for merchants, rooms, board, hiding spaces and etc. I really appreciate the input so far, I am working on some concept art to better visualize the actual locations rather than a google earth image,

And sorry this isnt the modding forum, I looked for one when I posted but I figured that right now, I am trying to recruit coders and mappers and etc. It isnt a real mod yet
